  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.

Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one

When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

I'm debating switching off of google fi… $56/month unlimited talk/text/data for 1 line. Data is painfully slow in cities (deprioritizing) I'm assuming the same as Mint but for significantly less cost

If you're a smart guy, you'll try for a month before you commit to a whole year. I hated them

Thanks for the post. Folks always negate the importance of data prioritization in cellular service nowadays. Pick an MVNO that doesn't require lower priority data access

Not really unlimited since hotspots are limited to 10gb/month. This is the reason why I'll be switching away from Mint

Earlier this year, I switched from Mint to Tello because you can pay one month at a time. Now I'm back to Mint because this is a steal of a deal. I will likely switch back to Tello a year from now...until the next deal.

This pairs well with the $500 of pixel 9 promo. Just received phone and service a couple days ago. So far so good. I'm in a large metro area and getting 450 mbs download speed. Wish I knew about Amex offer when I ordered. Around 550 total with taxes and fees for one year of service and new pixel 9 without trading in a phone is a deal IMO
Switching from AT&T, I was skeptical about Mint, but I took the leap and gave it a try. So far, I've been happy with their service in NYC.

too many companies DO NOT reward their loyal long time customers.

It's like dating, all unicorn and rainbows before marriage just to get you to say YES, good luck after that.

Can I combine this with the $400 off Pixel 9? Would it be easy to sell the Pixel 9 for $500? Can I still use the Esim on my iPhone 14 when I purchase and receive the Pixel 9 without a number? Thank You. I read from somewhere it's hard to port a number. On the page, it clearly states, "port your number." I shouldn't have an issue using my current number, correct? I'm moving from the ATT $300 Prepaid Plan to this plan. Thank You. Repped.

Just started it a week ago and now I'm in Mexico. I can call and text, probably WiFi texting. As for data, I get a warning that roaming charges may apply but it's possible. They sell passes for 1, 3, or 5 days that you can use for data, all are unlimited.

In simpler terms, at an additional cost.

It's prepaid so there should be no roaming charges. Did you try to use data?

If you pay with a credit card with cell phone insurance I am thinking paying full year up front would invalidate that? Anytime I've used the insurance they ask for a credit card statement showing payment on that month and month before statement. For that reason I'll have to pass. I use that insurance like once-twice a year.im a spade cadet

Does anyone know how they consider the user as new? I had parents come and visit us in the US last year and I purchased a Mint Mobile plan for them which we then abandoned. I am now about to do the same, but I wonder if they will consider parents as new users or not. Parents never had SSN and we don't care about retaining the same phone number, but I'm concerned that Mint will check if the full name, DOB and addresses are the same and decline the deal.
