  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.

Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one

When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

It's prepaid so there should be no roaming charges. Did you try to use data?
You have to load money in your wallet before you arrive in Mexico to buy their international coverage plans.

My existing 12-month Mint plan expires tomorrow.

Is there any way for me to take advantage of this offer as a new customer?

Thanks!

You mean for YOU. That means you are located somewhere where any carrier using a Tmobile signal won't work for you.

I use mint, the $180/year thing, great for phone calls but in the rare event you're ever without WiFi the speeds vary vastly, in my neighborhood I'm lucky to get more than 4-6mb/s download, but once out it goes up to 100-300mb/s, so if you rely on data a lot, get something else.

I live in a city that's supposed to have excellent coverage. Works great half of the time and no signal the other half. Customer service is worthless. I strongly suggest avoiding this headache. You get what you pay for...

Wish I could take advantage of this.
I switched from T Mobile to Mint a couple of years ago and have been very happy with them.
I live in a big city (LA) and at home I'm usually on wifi but I haven't had any reception issues.

New customer deals are so frustrating. I'm with Mint for years. Been enticed by recent killer mobile deals. They could lock me in for another year by allowing me to pre-buy my next 12 month period with this discount, but no, we've got to play the game of churning mobile providers to get the deals. Frown
same, but im going to call cs & see what they can do

Juan, have you tried Visible?
No, but I wouldn't hesitate to switch to any MVNO, so long as priority data is included and the price is right.

Mine came as $180 for the plan + $25.25 for the recovery fee + $3.16 taxes and fees = $208.41 total

Mint "deals" are always for new customers only. Have been a customer for 3 years. I finally decided to switch to other providers.
