These are not your normal Gretsch Hollow Body (semi hollow) . These are much smaller (more the size of a Les Paul across the body and in thickness). Makes for a very comfortable player for the first time owner of a Gretsch with F holes. These play very well with a good setup , pickups certainly give it that "Great Gretsch Sound" and if the ones I've had come across by bench the build quality is quite good. Seriously if you've ever wanted to go for something such as this. It's a great option. Unlike an acoustic, these are a great balance between electric and acoustic as you've got the playability of the electric with a bit more volume to play unplugged. The size makes it great for simply picking up and playing while on the sofa watching TV or just noodling around. Plug it in and it's a blast. In all seriousness this price is IMO amazing for the quality. WTH! Go for it .... The Guitar equation if you remember is

Plus one = the optimal number of Guitars. After acquisition this must be repeated

damn that's a beautiful guitar. I've always wanted a hollowbody but my recent-ish classical guitar I bought isn't getting enough love. :') better sit this out

I wanna say this is the best price this has been, typical deal price is $500 for this and $550 for the plus top version. Very tempting but my kid prefers acoustic.

I bought 2 other Gretsch models (Streamliner) from Adorama when they were posted here. I've owned guitars up to $6k and these guitars show no obvious quality issues other than you may want to change the tuners. Technology nowadays allows guitars to be made at reasonable prices with overseas labor. Haven't tried this particular model though and I think the Streamliners are built in Indonesia while this model is built in China

When I search for these 50% off deals, they don't come up. But these links take me to the discounted page. I'm just wondering (probably fruitlessly) if there are any such discounts on left handed Gretsch guitars that are not turning up when I search.

Saw the quilted-top version on clearance the other day at my local GC for like $650; they are definitely smaller guitars in person than you think. Great LP alternative.
