I know people are going to jump in with their hate toward expensive colognes, but this is the best price I've ever seen for Aventus. We get it, you prefer $12 Amazon scents, and that's perfectly fine, but just as some people buy designer clothes when $3 boxers will do the trick, some people enjoy more expensive scents. Both are fine, stop projecting.

it is corporate owned and mass produced much like any designer fragrance. They also historically don't credit the perfumers that work on their lines, falsified a history of their family members being master perfumers, and many fragrances are literally based on designer scents. It finally came out in the Ghost Perfumer that GIT and Cool Water smell so similar because per Bourdon literally created both based on the same formulation with minor changes. He was also responsible for most of their other success for a couple decades, never with proper credit. Herault has never gotten full credit for Aventus itself because Erwin and Olivier Creed are allergic to honesty and integrity. Meanwhile explorer, l'aventure, cdnm, supremacy silver, PE America, and about a thousand others have copied Aventus because creed don't actually use naturals like ambergris, oud, etc like they claimed, so it's trivial to replicate most of their line.
Personal fragrance in general is fairly onerous in the pricing regime as the scents are primarily developed by oil houses with perfumers widely pushed to develop new creations based on proprietary aromachemicals their employer controls through trade dress. Room sprays, detergents, candles, etc are literally scented with the same chemicals because the same fragrance and flavor businesses develop the majority of them. Markup over the cost of the scent compounds in a bottle is generally around seven times and up for department store brands, and is only worsened when powerhouses in the space like LV or L'Oreal pump it even higher based on the false cache of the slapped-on names of their equally mass produced clothing and accessories.
Anyone flexing with expensive toilet water from Costco of all places really needs to relax.

I love expensive colognes -- lots of great houses and scents out there that are much more expensive than Aventus. Lots of dudes also love Aventus, so I don't think that's the problem here. While newer batches are a little better, anything from Creed over the past few years have just been pretty weak in the longevity to the point that people go for the clones for the fact that some of them just last longer. Creed also has some consistency issues with their fragrances shifting a bit from batch to batch. With that said, this is a great price if you're wanting the original.
A lot of the clones really aren't that close, they'll get 'in the ballpark' of the originals (scent wise) but generally you'll be able to tell the difference from a higher (priced) fragrance and the dupes. I own a lot of the originals of scents and have a decent collection of 'dupes' and feel that much of the hype towards them are just people trying to justify their purchase.

Armaf has their club de nuit intense man usually around $30.
It is a knockoff of this cologne.
Most people say it is exactly like it and also lasts longer.
I have it and love it

Lemme save you 80% of the cost , and far better performance. Afnan Supremacy Not only Intense. And if you're feeling lucky, Armaf CDNIM (there are several, you want EDP).
Zara Vibrant Leather is another cheap alternative. Smells almost identical to my Aventus 21N01.

Very popular and cloned a million times so won't be unique smelling as it's DNA can be smelled all the time.
Great price though if you want to add it to the collection.
