I'll bite. I was reminded how much I love this having played the arcade track ball version not too long ago. I also consistently forget having to spend my Gold Points before they expire which is annoying.

You must have not loved it too much because Arkanoid isn't played with a trackball, it's played with a spinner. If you played it with a trackball then you absolutely got the wrong impression of the game. Which brings me to my point.... there isn't a spinner controller available for the switch, which is probably why this game was marked down to $2 and also why, even at such a discounted price, it might not be worth it.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing but in a much nicer way, my guess is they meant spinner, unless it was part of one of those bundle cabinets that maybe only has a trackball? The NES version of this was great because it came with the spinner controller.

Semantics. I was picturing what you described actually but have never heard it referred to as a spinner.

So a trackball is a round ball that you spin in place 360 degrees to move objects in a game. A spinner is a round metal disc that spins clockwise or counterclockwise to move a game object left and right on the screen. Arkanoid plays fine without a spinner in my opinion.
