Please help me decide if I should buy this and return the below which I bought for $430, so $50 less than this.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/15574422...0WPT879P6W

It's Lenovo Flex 7 14IRU8, 14" IPS Glass, i7-1355U, 16GB, 1TB SSD

This one is better than what you have if you really need a sturdy workhorse machine.

The display on the Flex is superior to the one on this, which is to be expected from a pure business laptop which this model of ThinkPad is. If you are going to be spending more time on media consumption and maybe a little bit of light photo editing than Flex would be suited for you more. However, if you are buying a laptop mainly for work then the ThinkPad would be suited more esp. with the far superior build quality, keyboard, port selections, and also battery life as the AMD chip is more efficient.

This is a good deal. The only negative is the screen. I wish it was 100% sRGB, but that's hard to find in a business laptop at this price range, even refurbished.

I think this is one of the better refurb Thinkpads. There's definitely a difference in build quality between the L series that typically goes for around $300 vs P and higher series. If you're looking for real Thinkpad build quality this will meet that. I have the L series and frankly it's just not a true Thinkpad. This seems to be the lowest price on the P/T/X series without having to dip into old generation CPUs.

If this had a better screen, this would be an amazing deal. I would have bought this if I didn't already get a laptop recently.

Linked Yoga is a much worse laptop and consumer grade versus this one. This is a mid-upper grade professional laptop, with higher grade build, trackpad, battery, keyboard and better graphics. The Yoga has a 11th gen 4c/8t cpu that is really dated at this point. Main points for the Yoga is 13 inch (smaller), 1TB storage, and touchscreen.

Thanks for pointing that out. I forget about the soldered memory deal with the non E/L series.

Odd that crucial says you can upgrade the RAM but some say you can't on AMD models? Anyone know for sure? Yet to check psref.

How would this be for light solidworks and other 3d modeling work? Looking for a lighter machine to carry day to day.
