You can use devices like phones with these. The Samsung Galaxy line works with docks like these. It's great being able to toss it in a bag to go, and be able to use the phone like a computer on a big screen while charging at the same time. Or simply just use it as a charger. It's very convenient when traveling.
Great info, I have an s23 and enjoy using Dex. Thanks
I have a similar product from Acefast (65W) and it seems finicky when the video signal comes through or not - still haven't figured out what conditions need to happen for it to work consistently. Usually I just have to unplug/replug various times in different order until it comes on. Once it's on though, I haven't had it drop.
I'm also still looking/hoping to find a 100w version of this to work with my work laptop that comes with a dGPU (won't charge with anything lower).
The only problem was with 3rd party docks that didn't follow the USB-C spec and improperly spaced the pins (Nyko). Bad USB-C connectors are a thing of the past at this point, though, so it's no longer an issue.https://arstechnica.com/gaming/20...ep-frying/
That was a pretty good read. Thanks for the info. I have always been scared to plug my switch into anything other than its original dock. Now I know to just avoid nyko and really cheap pd chargers.
Does anyone know if this will work like a dock for a switch lite? I mostly play independent games with my lite, but it would be nice to put on the big screen to do overcooked on occasion.

I don't think Switch Lite has USB-C Display Out capabilities. So it wouldn't matter what you plug in, you won't get display out.

It does work, though you need to plug the cables in the right order or the Switch gets confused and won't output to TV.
I'm thinking of upgrading to the 65W version so I can also use it with my MacBook Pro.
