Holy crap, my wife was just telling me about this when I saw Sixth Sense for the first time and she said the poor sick girl's mom was just like Gypsy Rose and I said "Huh?"
Which led me down this rabbit hole, so now I have to get this.

This is a true crime 8 episode show based on a daughter murdering her mother because she was abused. Seems like generally positive reviews after originally releasing on Hulu

I believe Arquette won an Emmy for it.
I also had the impression this was going to be an installment in a true crime series. I probably misunderstood Hulu's marketing. Good stuff.

I've heard good things about this show but I recommend the HBO doc Mommy Dead and Dearest about the same case

Great show. It is a mockery of justice that gypspy is a free woman though. If manson belongs in jail then so does gypsy.

Joey king is great, arquette is great, show doesnt overstay welcome

Agreed, the doc is very well done and comprehensive. The only reason I haven't watched this show is because you really get everything you need from the doc.

This was a pretty well-done series and the acting was good, though ideally it probably should have been a ~5 part series instead of 8. A couple of the middle episodes were like yes, we get it, the poor girl is being gaslit.
