Old bus drivers don't retire they retread

But then what do old Community Managers do???

This old coot is retiring at the end of the month/year.

30 years with the school kids and 15 with internet goobers.
It's time to spoil the dogs even more and I plan to find every state, county, metro and city park I can in the area and let them ENJOY!

I am grateful for the opportunity MrSD and the team gave me when they brought me on as the first CM. I've learned so much and had some interesting experiences. Zip-lining in Vegas, go karts, etc and it has been fun meeting many of the mods when they visited the office back in the day.

I am looking forward to be set free in this lounge again Evillaugh

Ok well the first couple of weeks kinda suck since the bulging disc in my back has been acting up a TON and I've been in a lot of pain. Going to see if it's better by the end of next week and if not I'll likely be facing another #%%^~|{€*?|}%^ surgery blah.
I hope you are doing ok now. Comfort

I have tried a tens unit as well as many years of steroid shots into my spine and neck, the ten unit never did help, the shots helped but I've had too many in my neck and they didn't do any good for my lumbar...

I need a bunion surgery on my left foot (had the right done last March) and luckily the first one didn't involve any metal... just removed a certain bone to allow the bones to realign themselves and I'm hoping the second one would be the same.

I also have a bulging disk that has been causing sporadic sharp and prolonged pain but I'm realllllllllly not wanting another spine surgery.

I'll see the spine surgeon again in the spring and see where we are.

As to retirement.. it's weird. I still feel like my "vacation" will be over soon and I'll need to be back at work laugh out loud Loki and Bella have been clingy lol so now I'm trying to make sue I get some "me" time out and about.
Oh... side note.. seems the "thing to do" when retired as lunches with other retired friends laugh out loud

The ohhh "I will love shopping during the work week and avoid the crowds" didn't play out quite like I thought it wouldlaugh out loud All the old retired people are in the stores and meandering! Annoyed Kinda makes me want to go on weekend when it's at least moving more quickly.

I did see a pair of bluebirds at the feeders the other day. I have never seen them here before even though I know they are in some parks not far away and a birder said it's very unusual to have them in the area in the winter here. My mom loved bluebirds and she and her second husband had a bluebird house up in the yard in MO. She passed in Nov (one of the catalysts in my retirement decision) so I think she came to visit. heart

With my mom and dad both gone and now my sister is dealing with the onset of a bad medical issue that will not get better and only worse...I have been trying to not wallow in a funk which would really be so easy these days. Just like the lounge... things just aren't the same.

Oh and to the nice mod who sent a PM to me.. I cannot reply until someone on the CM team fixes my settings. Staff is allowed many more PMs than members so now.. my account won't let me reply to a PM Stick Out Tongue

Hi
I know I've been AWOL but I've been trying to …I don't know…just trying.
Retirement was going very well but I need to ask you to send up positive thoughts for Bella.
She has a bulging disc in her lower spine. The diagnosis is IVDD.
She can't walk or control her bladder or bowels.
They gave her nerve pain and anti inflammatory meds to see if it gets better without surgery. But either way it's a long haul to recovery IF she recovers.
Glad I'm retired so I have time to give her care…not glad due to the $$$$.
It's breaking my heart to see her go through this.
Loki is bored as hell and worried about his sister.
Just need some positive vibes for her.
TIA.

I really hope you are all doing well. ❤️ to all.

Oh Schoobs! I'm so saddened to hear this about your beautiful girl Bela. One of our favorite pet-sitting guests just left us last week. He was about twelve, a golden beige labradoodle named Finn. One of the kindest, gentlest, most well-behaved gentlemen you could ever meet. We're saddened by his departure, and more concerned for his family and sister doodle, Poppie.

My point in mentioning it? Just that their time with us is relatively short, and jam-packed with all the love and warmth and great joy they can provide. They are amazing creatures, and love us so much. We are truly blessed to enjoy their company.

I hope your beloved Bela recovers, I really do. heart

They can bounce back quickly, hope that is case with Bella. She couldn't ask for a better person to care for her to improve her chances hug

Thanks,
She'll be seeing a neurologist on Wednesday for consultation and possibly MRI (farking canine MRIs are crazy expensive, like almost as much as the spinal surgery).
I hate seeing her like this, it's just not fair. She'll be 7 in August.

Thanks, I love these goobers more than just about anything.
But she's gotten worse over the week so I have to consider next steps.

Only seven years old? No, that's definitely not fair.
