Got this receiver for 750 from Adorama recently. Missed the 700 eBay deal, but with cashback it's essentially the same so no issues. This one is a monster. I have it paired with a pair of DT D15s (also got from Adorama) and an SVS sub and it's damn good. I previously was using a Denon s760h and the difference is pretty high. Also compared it back to back with Denon x3800h and I can't find any difference and hence the 3800 (more expensive) is going back. I am not an audio expert, simply stating what I like the most for my setup.

Your BBB argument is flawed. First of all it's nonsense (a lot of not kosher stuff behind those ratings), and if you do believe in it, then Electronics Expo is below Adorama as Electronics Expo is not even a BBB accredited vendor which going by the same logic means they don't pass the BBB standards [bbb.org].

None of the audio Adorama sells is gray goods.

Adorama as a retailer is fine and so are their deals being posted by staff. Who cares who posts the deal? A good deal is a good deal. If Electronics Expo ran as many promotions and they were a decent vendor [resellerratings.com], you'd see them on the front page more often.

A really good price on this unit. $799 and free shipping from an authorized Onkyo dealer. This is a savings of about $50 compared to the best prices available at the moment (Adorama is approx. $849 + tax)

That was through Adorama which is an SD promoted vendor. You never see SD members posting deals from that vendor, only SD employees. Adorama has a very poor BBB rating and sells gray market goods (It is listed on their website)
Customer Reviews - 1.08/5stars
Average of 76 Customer Reviews
284 complaints in last 3 years / 86 complaints in last 12 months
https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/new-yor...-0121-2477

Adorama Gray market info:
https://www.adorama.com/help/Gene...o#imported

Now compare that to Electronics Expo which has ZERO BBB complaints and only sells US products, no gray market goods. .

How much taller is this than a standard height receiver? Not sure it's going to fit in my shelving without overheating.

So you're saying SD employees don't actually have our backs? Well, it turns out the BBB doesn't either because even with a 1.08 rating Adorama still gets an A- rating! I'd have a doctorate if that's all it took.

SD promotes posts that make them money. That is why there are so many Adorama posts that automatically make front page and they are always posted by SD employees. .

There are two things to look at on the BBB page. First is the number of complaints and secondly the grade which is an indicator of how they respond to complaints. So the grade is not as relevant, as I would hope that you just start off dealing with a reputable vendor, rather take your chances and have to fight with them later about an issue.

As per your height question, the unit measures 7-15/16" tall. There is no AVR "Standard" height. It is entirely up to the manufacturer, but higher end units will tend to be larger to accommodate larger / more robust components. .

Your BBB argument is flawed. I agree that BBB doesn't say everything about a business but I'm just going to say your argument is biased and flawed too. Adorama isn't a bad dealer, and neither is Electronics Expo. Electronics Expo has super high ratings on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/sp?ie=UTF8...chant_link), which is a harder thing to maintain than your source. Also after buying from Expo's last deal, they followed up on my order a lot. Like you said a deal is a deal weather it's from Adorama or Electronics Expo.

Oh, I'm not saying their bad at all. Maybe they are better than Adorama or even Amazon for that matter. I was just trying to make a point

Certainly BBB is not perfect, but your argument is VERY flawed. BBB accreditation is a PAY TO PLAY scheme. They charge a hefty fee EACH YEAR, that can be thousands of dollars per year. Since a vendor would need to pay for this accreditation, the fact that they do not have it means mothing in regard to how good or bad a vendor is. Since there have been no complaints filed against Electronics Expo, would you spend all that money for a "Service" you don't really need?

You asked who cares who posts the deal? Well that all depends on if you are an SD sheep or not. There is significant bias on this site towards their vendors since their advertising dollars and affiliate cash back is the driving force, not if a deal is really good or not.

Most times when you buy through ebay you will not have a manufacturers warranty with the item. Sometimes you may be able to work around this if the item is from an authorized vendor, but it is not a guarantee.

The BuyDig deal came with a two year warranty.
