Being looking at new MA Golds and noticed this.

This is for the person looking for a pair of speakers for two channel listening.
These MA Golds are outstanding & would make great music listening setup imo.

They are pretty transparent sound and they do like power so you would need good clean power to drive them to their potential imo.

This is pretty specific but a great deal if you do fall under it.

Two obvious different sounds.
In general, these are more natural deeper very articulate sound.
Metas are more on the forward thinner side of that.

Both are very good, comes down to which sound you prefer.
I would add these definitely like more clean power, highly recommended for optimal performance.

Something to consider, that adds more money to the equation imo.

Neither, get Ascend Sierra 2 ex v2. Better crossover implementation, very high quality sound.

Sound is completely subjective.

You would most likely be very impressed but likely wouldn't think it was worth the cost to get it.

No. These are passive speakers. If you had a sonos amp, they could be powered by a sonos enabled device.

Completely agree. Ascend Sierras are true ribbon speakers and will blow these AMT ribbon speakers away... if AMT is your thing go for Martin Logans... or for better bang per dollar Emotiva Airmotiv are hard to beat.

Better yet I've heard someone say in here a Sonos soundbars are so "impressive" they would be just as good as any of those speakers in a 5.1 setup! 🤣

Can confirm, have had mine for 8-9 years. They sound beautiful and I'm impressed EVERYTIME I listen to them.

Would these be good as studio monitors for neutral sound?

I need a pair of good speakers for my DAW (digital audio workstation) - if it were years ago I'd get some Yamaha NS-10, but those are long gone.
