Is this one easier to clean than the previous version? I love mine, but the inside looks terrible and is a PITA to clean.

This one doesn't have the removeable bottom panel, if that's what you're referring to. Model FT102A at Sam's [samsclub.com] does though.

That's the fatal flaw of these. I love mine and use it everyday, but the fact that you can't really properly clean it means that the fan will eventually goop up from air frying and start making horrible noises and you'll end up tossing it way before its lifespan should be up.

Got one for my mom and it's been working great so far. Anything that does drip onto the bottom can be easily scraped off after it cools down. Speaking of, it does take a while for it to cool down enough to where it can be touched and flipped back up. However, boy is that a neat trick to save valuable counter space!

I have the old one with the bottom panel that opens up (it just opens on one end; you don't remove it) and it does help when cleaning, but it introduces other problems.

You'll have grease leaking through the crevice where the panel opens and a lot of it ends up inside the plastic "hinge" that helps the unit flip up, and it's hard to get in.

The newer models that don't have this "hinge" and just use those "rocker" feet to help it flip up and down is definitely an improvement in this regard, but again, those don't have the bottom panel that opens up.

At the end of the day, every toaster oven in existence is pretty much a PITA to clean. Some are just worse than others.
