Deal Details
Steam has Steam Deck OLED Handheld Gaming PCs (Certified Refurbished) on sale as listed below. Shipping is free.

Thanks to Deal Hunter Eragorn for finding this deal.

Available Options:
  • 512GB $439
  • 1TB $519
All Certified Refurbished Steam Decks include:
  • The same one year warranty as a new Steam Deck (unless longer as determined by your country of residence)
  • A refurbished power supply - fully tested (may have minor cosmetic marks)
  • Carrying case and Quick Start guide
Features:
  • Portability meets power. We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.
  • Your Steam Library, anywhere. Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.
  • Control with comfort. The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you're using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

Steam refurbs are actual refurbished, meaning they are fully restored to the point of looking undistinguishable from brand new. They have an in depth restoration process, unlike other vendors or retailers who sell all returns as refurbished regardless of condition.

You don't really have to "hack" it to play roms. It's just like a computer, just install whatever emulators and games you want on it. There's a program called emudeck that installs all the emulators and helps you set it all up.

Gorgeous. I've had it since launch. Would not want anything bigger. It's perfect for handheld gaming. Just love it. Fantastic buy at this price.

That is a nice price for OLED. I thought my refurb LCD was worth every penny when I got it a year ago, and it also looked brand new.

Already have a 1TB 2230 SSD is it easy to upgrade? Is an external SSD enclosure needed?

No you can put it in blank. I recommend loading the image to an microsd card though it works much smoother to setup the hard drive

good deal, I couldn't do it though. If my OLED showed up with a scratched to heck screen I'd be pissed.

How's Steam's refurbishing process? Should I expect same standard as Apple, where it's difficult to differentiate with new?

I purchased a refurbished Steam Deck last year to replace a new one that I sold on marketplace, and visually it was indistinguishable from the new unit. Highly recommend getting a refurb if you want to save a few bucks
