I've noticed a trend, were ingredients now list "natural flavor" vs actual spice.
This is becoming more common as the cost of real vanilla and cocoa continues to rise dramatically.
Vanilla is now the second most expensive spice, and cocoa has nearly doubled in price in the last year.
Often these "natural flavors" have little to none of the actual ingredient, only trying to replicate the flavor using barks, cloves, corn, rice etc.
You can still find syrups listing actual vanilla/vanilla extract, but they cost A LOT more.

The French vanilla pack of 8 seems to be a price mistake at $12.58

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...th=1&psc=1

The picture shows two so you might end up with only 2 bottles though.

I've tried quite a few DaVinci flavors and they're all waaaaay too artificially tasting...more than typical syrups. plus the flavors are meh.

Doesn't really have anything to do with cost of vanilla or cocoa...this has been industry standard for a long time. Whenever you see "natural flavor" on an ingredient label, instead of the actual "flavor" (strawberry, vanilla, etc), there is none of that thing in the product. It's just other things mixed to make it taste like that missing (more expensive) ingredient.

Not just often...always. Big Grin Otherwise the manufacturer would very likely highly tout it on the label ("Real vanilla flavor!") or something.

Definitely NOT for people that read ingredient labels and care about their health.

Hard Pass
Living and eating like this sounds exhausting. Avoiding overprocessed foods and things with excessive amounts of sugar is good, sure, but most people's bodies can handle a sweet treat every now and then or in moderation without any adverse effects

This is the crux of the problem when it comes to Americans and their health. Americans believe they deserve the right to eat garbage "because a little poison won't hurt you".

No... Poison is poison, no matter the dose.

Get off the poison, and start eating fruit and honey for your sweet treat. You'll BE much healthier, FEEL much healthier, and finally begin to understand that you've been slowly poisoning yourself every day of your life due to American corporations marketing garbage as acceptable in small doses.

I learned this first-hand. I no longer consume any of this stuff and my body's responded in the most wonderful ways.

I'm not here to thread crap though. This is still a fair deal for those who are interested in the syrups.

I've felt zero difference completely cutting out sugar for 6 months and saw zero effect on my performance, sleep, or any obvious effect on blood biomarkers. This is also anecdotal though, maybe some people will feel better. However, no scientific studies show that moderate sugar intake is bad for you.

Overindulging is the only thing that has made me feel like crap. Most peoples bodies are reslient to the occasional unhealthy thing - yeah if you're eating processed foods as all your meals or lots of sugar daily you're gonna feel like shit and have health problems.
