Aren't these prices same from past few weeks?
That's a clean look. Do you have a plug-in in the back?
Running the wire under the ceiling cover is super easy and takes about 10 minutes to take it all the way back to the rear glass. Besides, even if you put another camera for the back window you will try to hide the wire somehow. Also, in case of an accident how are you going to reach back to save the video. I also bought the A229 during the last sale and it took me half hr to remove the existing cam and wire and put the new one in. TBH I spend 5 mins making sure the static film was put in the right spot and didn't have any air bubbles behind it.

its really not that hard. took me 20 mins in the cold to get it done. just use the trim tool and run it thru the headliner.. start from the windshield and work your way back to leave the slack in the rear of the headliner
What did you do to make sure you aren't interfering with the side airbag? That's my only concern.

229 Pro worth the $60 extra over the 229+? Anyone have experience with that one?

Planning to buy the hardwire kit. Looking to hear from anyone who's hardwired their Viofo or dashcams in general if it's worth the effort (of learning how and actually doing it)
I think that hardwiring isn't as difficult as you might think. Just watch some youtube. I was wondering where people run the cord if wanting to use the cigarette lighter, especially if the wire is short. I don't want it going from the glass straight down to the lighter socket!

Looks like for A229+ shipping is not free if you don't have Prime. I get "$6.99 delivery" when checking out.

Edit: It was a tactic from Amazon to get me to pay for Prime. At the final page during payment there's a free delivery option. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Check out youtube on your specific vehicle of how to open those pillars. It's pretty important to put the wire underneath the curtain airbags, so the wire won't block it in case of deployment.
There is no need to run the wire down the A piller. Simply pull it to the outsideside(under the ceiling) and run it under the rubber gasket of the door opening, then pull it back in under the dash.

Has Viofo fixed their camera issues yet? Their camera stopped recording at time off accident. https://youtu.be/W9XBB40Ufn8?feature=shared

I have the a129pro duo and another Viofo (a119?). I purchased the a119 first and was happy with it so I got the 129 duo for my other car.

Quick story: Driving with my wife and kid on a 3 lane road. The car in the #3 lane swerved into the #2, and the car in #2 swerved slight into #1 where I was. You could see on the video that #3 started the chain reaction. Granted #2 could have just hit her and not swerve into my lane. But, I called #2's insurance company. Told them what happened and asked if they wanted my dashcam footage. Put it on youtube, and they admitted 100% fault and paid out.

I think I may have provided #2 some evidence that indicates that #3 started all of this as well. Not sure if it helped #2 at the end.

Another thing in regards to power. Depending on your make/model, there are harnesses that are sold that are "plug and play" for power. So no need to run wires further or tap into wires. I bought something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSPJT...F9kZXRhaWw and made install a breeze. It took me longer trying to figure out how to open the cover to get to the harness.

Do you really need to manually save a video after an accident? If the camera were to continue recording, it would cycle through the oldest files first anyways, right? Just thinking out loud here, not challenging you.

Overall, I question the whole file protection feature on all dash cams since logically, the card should be removed and reviewed after any accident and/or incident where you can then transfer the captured moment onto your computer for safekeeping.

any cams that use extra channels to capture the side views for a 360 coverage? I find it ridiculous wasting 3rd channel on cabin. What if you get striken from a side

I have the a229+ and it over heated one summer day. Unfortunately I was involved in an accident that day and no footage was recorded.

I like the A139 Pro because it has a cabin camera built right into the front cam. Other options are the T130 but it isn't nearly as good without the Starvis 2 sensor

The cabin one will capture that through the windows, sort of. All depends on the conditions outside bc on a sunny day, the windows may be overly exposed. This is based on watching YouTube reviews with cabin cameras included. Also, footage of the front and/or back will still capture most of the scene to back your story up. If you're driving through an intersection while the light is green and you get T-boned, both front and rear cameras would highlight this.

People seem to really cling on to the 4k thing. Watching footage on YouTube, it doesn't seem like the difference is worth it.

Hardwiring via a fuse tap is the best method and not hard. Running the wire so its mostly concealed is the hardest part.
Have Viofo 119 today. Thinking of upgrading to the Pro 2 channel and adding one for my wife. An investment for sure, but it only takes one time to prove its value 10fold.

So there seems to be multiple A229 models (as I need at least front and back camera with ideally good width view). Which is best bang for buck and easy installation?

I previously ordered a kit, and it required some installation and I never got around to install it. Still new in it's packaging after 3-years. So I'm looking for something updated with easy installation. I don't want to drill into my trunk or license plate area.

Any expert around can advice?
