If you have an EA game in Steam that needs Origin or the EA app, run that and link Steam to EA App/Origin.

Steam games will link to Origin/EA App, but unfortunately Origin/EA App will not link to Steam (so you can't get Steam copies of stuff you have on Origin/EA App).

So if you have access to EA games over on the Origin/EA App side, can still enjoy them over there OR buy them on Steam instead.

I wish it worked both ways. I have a bit of games 'owned' in EA that don't appear in Steam but the EA games I own in Steam appear in both services. Clearly EA is trying to entice people to their DRM platform but given a choice I'd rather all in Steam.

It's still so bonkers to me EA charges less for all 3 games and ALL of the DLC than they charged for one single DLC alone a decade ago.

Never played any of the Mass Effect games but did just pull the trigger on a Steam Deck so this seems like perfect timing to give these a try. Hopefully they play nice with the deck, looks like internet connection is always required for their DRM.

Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required.
Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account
Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA
Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition EULA

Imagine needing all this shit just to play your single player game. Game was already cracked day 1, pirates get to play the game without all that bs.

Mass Effect 2 is very high on the best all time RPG list. The whole trilogy is great, an unmatched gaming experience.

Yeah there's a bit of a tradeoff here. On console you don't have to jump through the EA account BS but on PC you can load mods.

Slick Deals requires an account, which requires signing an EULA, the device you used to post your comment also requires an app (or OS)...which then requires its own EULA. So you have an app / OS, multiple accounts, and 2-3 EULA's just to complain about an app, an account(_), and 2 EULA's. Hopefully the irony isn't lost on you.

But I agree, the EA app is annoying however it is one thing you are splitting into hairs to become 4.

P.S....welcome to post 90's internet Wink

2 is by far the best of the three games, but "Shore Leave" is the single most enjoyable mission in any game I've ever played. I have never seen such a beautiful and magical love letter from the developers to their fans disguised as a mission in any game I've ever played. Hell, Legendary Edition as a whole is just one massive "thank you for sticking with us" to gamers as it fixed almost all of the pain points of the numerous versions of the three games separately.

If I remember correctly you have to be online to sign into EA / Origin first time playing the game but once that occurs once you'll never need to be online again.

If that doesn't work just request a refund within the first 2 hours of gameplay and Steam will always refund you. Offline is a big deal to me as well so I've requested a few refunds for games that don't allow it.

Skipping this because of the ridiculous DRM.

First game hasn't aged well but the other 2 are great. I replayed ME2 several times just to see the various scenarios play out. The third was good but I felt didn't exceed on what ME2 delivered. DLC was also very good.
