Still no $349.00 deal at this time of the year UNLIKE last year.

I know I know I know. Inflation, and this is the DIGITAL series X.

However, it is pretty clear to me that MS is now prioritizing sales on this variant instead of the disc variant to help with the Game Pass revenue.

If anyone (cap for emphasis) REALLY WANT to get the disc Series X, it is worth getting it used from secondary market. I got mine in used for $300 after waiting 9 months and I couldn't wait anymore. SO GLAD I did.

This holiday xbox console deals suck unlike last year.

The digital edition should have come with 2tb as standard.

Regardless of the debate of physical vs digital games, note that physical games have much better and more frequent sales vs their digital counterparts. You can easily save the $50 difference between the two console variants by buying physical games when they're on sale vs buying them digitally (even when on sale). Note that this particularly applies to games that have both physical and digital distribution and that are recent enough to still remain in stock at stores.

To be fair, physical games require that you download the entire game onto internal storage so it's not like digital games are at a storage space disadvantage. Microsoft will likely earn more over the life of a digital system, given that you're always buying through their store, so it might have made sense for them to make it easier to buy and store more.

Agreed 100%. I would be kicking myself if I waited until now and didn't get the $349 XSX w/ Diablo IV bundle last December. Plus the warranty to December 2016 was only $39.99 through Microsoft, so if anything happens, they have to replace it with a disc based unit. It was actually less than the $59.99 I spent on a PS4 warranty back in 2013, and it lasts a year longer
It will be slightly hilarious next year when everyone is keyboard screaming about tariffs. Now is the to be offering good promotions and bundles, yet everything across the board is inferior to last year. Weird industry.

Then it would be $549.99. Not happening.

$599.99 for the 2TB variant with the disc drive. It OK. Not a fan of the price point nor the paint job. I'll be OK if it $450.

I'm confused by this, since 2023->2024 inflation wasn't really that bad (~3%). Why did we see $350 Series X with 4K Blu Ray drive in 2023, but now we're getting the Digital Edition for $400 in 2024? The Series S seems to have gone up in price even more.

You're CROSS comparing BF price vs MSRP between then vs now.

There are 2 variants for both Series X** and S.

Series S
———-
512GB for $299.99 MSRP
1TB for $349.99 MSRP

Series X Disc
———
1TB for $499.99 MSRP
2TB for $599.99 MSRP

**Series X Digital is $449.99 MSRP
