Dang.. I just got 2 of these delivered yesterday directly from Samsung after stacking deals / coupon codes and thought i did great getting them for $166 each. The reviews are sparse (no rtings either), but I rolled the dice and so far I am very happy with them... especially for the price.

FYI: The 27" version (this one) is IPS, the 32" is VA... Seems this is the standard across the board for Samsung monitors.

I am using both monitors with 2 Windows computers (my personal Desktop, and my Dell work laptop with a Pluggable USBC docking station that supports dual 4k @ 60hz) via a Display Port KVM. None of the Dell docking stations support dual 4k @ 60 hz, so my work sent me this one: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-T...B0BQJWKBMF .. I actually use 3 KVMS in my setup (one for keyboard, one for each monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DBYKR8HQ/) so I can have any combination of monitors and computers (instead of just either / or) .. the KVMs are hidden and controlled by the remote switches included

If you are a serious gamer, 60Hz is probably not for you.. Casual gamer like me, it is fine. HDR video looks great too. No dead pixels, just plug and play right out of the box. The color calibration between the 2 are spot on equal with each other. Also, I stick with Display port end to end as the bandwidth etc is better than HDMI.

Samsung also makes a USBC version of this monitor if you absolutely have to have it.

I avoid LG in this price range as they are reportedly unreliable, and Dell does not really have a solid HDR offering in this price range either. So this one ticked all the boxes for me.

Can anyone tell me what the USB-C version is and where I would find a good deal? We sell NUCs, and I'd like to make a demonstration video showing how to use the USB-C/Thunderbolt version for two monitors.
Maybe you're thinking of the S80TB?

Doubt msrp is ever that high but $170 is a decent deal. Plenty of monitors in this price range you should check out before committing though.
I already own two 28" 4k monitors that I bought used for $40-$50 each locally but I think this is a banger deal. The only monitors I see selling for this price are 1440p monitors on SD. Can you share what you found?

This isn't much of a deal. It's a basic sRGB (Samsung doesn't claim P3) 60hz IPS panel, standard 350 nits, no local dimming. There are a number of 27/4K screens (e.g., MSI MP273U) with full DCI-P3 gamut at the same price. The only differentiator is that this S80D has a better height-adjustable stand.

Do you have any other recommendations? I'm looking for 4K/UHD with as accurate colors I can get under $200. Is the MP273U the best option here? Appreciate your insight!

You don't get such features with brand like Samsung at this price. This is the best bang for the bucks to get 4K with IPS.

Got one for $5 at Goodwill (1360x768), just the cable is worth more than that. I donated back afterward (limited viewing angles).

I've been looking for 27" 4k monitors for a month or so. Haven't seen a better deal. In for 3

These days, just about every IPS monitor is 4 dE or better in SDR. With sufficient color gamut and hardware controls for white balance, you can get under 2 dE with a <$100 color calibrator. The MP273U is a good, current 4K IPS panel with full coverage of DCI-P3 (older 4K IPS panels are more likely to have only sRGB gamut or occasionally Adobe RGB). KOORUI and KTC's '95%' versions probably have the same panel. Most review sites (RTINGS, others) measure color accuracy.
