I'll echo what everyone else is saying about the right angle impact wrench and share my personal experience with it.
I got the impact wrench when it went on sale a couple years ago. I work in the oil and gas industry. The guys would make fun of me when I pull out a Kobalt impact with a 3/8 drive. I stick a 1/2 adapter on there and go to town on bolts and nuts up to 1.25" to break free on old flanges.
I've used that tool every day at work for the last 2 years. It has been beat up and put through some serious work, and that beast is still going strong.
This sale price of $99 with 2 free tools is the lowest I've seen. (I previously posted this deal at $129 and thought that was super slick.)

Dang. I've got way too many power tools already but this tempting. I already am into DeWalt, Ryobi and Milwaukee M13 and just got into Kobalt tools just over a year ago because I got some insane deals. Got impact wrenches on clearance for $25 (bought 4), right angle impacts for $37 (bought 2), right angle drill for $14, and huge 6 piece XTR kit on clearance for $139. Also the batteries are reasonable at the normal price, but when they are on sale, the prices are insane!!! I wouldn't mind trying these new impact "stubby" wrenches but I already have the 4 old versions (I keep in my cars) and have the dewalt DCF 923 and 921 on my workbench. For the record, the right angle impact from Kobalt is really really good. Beats the M12 and similar to Ridgid.

I want to get this for my dad for Christmas, but I dont really understand tools. Can someone please explain the difference between:
1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in cordless impact wrench
and
3/8 cordless ratchet wrench?
Do the impact wrenches only use one socket ?
Why would you choose one or the other? My dad works on his motorcycle and cars and just want to get him the one he'd us most
Thanks
If your dad works on his own stuff. The 3/8" impact wrench (not right angle) is probably the safest bet. If he has a lot of his own tools he may already have that, and I'd go for the 3/8" right angle impact wrench. The 1/4" is a little small and the 1/2" might be overkill for a motorcycle

That's why I did it. I'm mostly Ryobi with some random Milwaukee m12 tools. I have just about everything I need. But the stack boxes look cool and the batteries give me an excuse to try another system or to chase that random kobalt slickdeals lol.
Me Exactly.
LOL, now I have tons of Ryobi.
Enough Sun Joe.
Enough 60v Greenworks.
And the Green Machine deal from HD.

Beside drill, driver, i got jigsaw, circular, reciprocating saw and oscillating multi tool. Should I get the angle grinder or multi-material cutter next?

I would get the angle grinder. Awesome when you have to cut heavy metal. Also great for sharpening things such as the mower blades.

Well now I am officially in the Kobalt ecosystem. Prior to this I only had 1 tool and 1 battery. Too good of a deal to pass up, especially with the Amex offer.

If anyone has both, is there any reason to get the ratchet instead of the right angle impact other than possibly the clearance of the head? Just for working on own vehicles
Not really, beyond what you mentioned. A powered ratchet is really about speed but not power.

If you have to pick one go for the IW.

Wow. I wish I wasn't already invested in Ryobi. I've been wanting a stacking storage system and this seems like a steal no?
$99x2 one with the case stack rolling tool box and another for the toolbox. 4 stack system + 4 batteries and chargers for $200.

Anyone have experience with reselling the batteries?
