Yes. I just brought my 20 year-old craftsmab ratchet to ace hardware and they replaced it with a much better model for free with no questions asked. They said that model was no longer available so I got a free upgrade. I'll stick with craftsman.

Yes. You can just take a photo and message Craftsman directly and they'll send you new versions and you keep the old.

If you can get a rebuild kit you're better off fixing the old ones tbh. I have a bag of ball bearings somewhere for replacing detent spring balls as that seems to be the most common issue with them (causes the reversing lever to stop working/jam)
