Oh and p.s. I found the quality on this specific model has decreased since the company switched owners.

When you have this and the Patagonia nano air in hand, the Patagonia was noticeably better quality.

What year did the owner switch? I remember when Arc'teryx jackets were made in Canada, and they switched to China. I claimed warranty on two jackets because a panel delaminated. They issued me gift cards to buy newer models.

Thanks for sharing this. There's a lack of Arc'Teryx deals on Slickdeals, so this is great to see

China or not, I haven't had problems with the quality of Arc'Teryx stuff to date. Additionally, the customer service and how much they stand behind their product is enough for me to pay the premium...currently.

I recently bought the Patagonia down sweater jacket and man that thing is comfortable and light and warm, down really is superior. It was about 15 degrees yesterday and it was nice and warm with just a t shirt underneath. I just wish I had gotten one with a hood so the next time I see a deal on one with a hood I am getting it.

You trust those reviews? Think FakeSpot for Amazon.

I had both in my hands. That's the only way to make an accurate conclusion.

these used to be $120 on black friday...they are great synthetic jackets, but the price to value ratio has become terrible

arc'teryx used to do 40-60% off during black friday, but when I visited their outlet this year, their deal was %15 off and a %30 value bin.....

get a mountain hardwear kor status for 1/3rd the price, or even a patagonia nano for half the price

sure maybe a few tech bros at the office won't wanna compliment you as much, but you'll have saved $150...

Where to get a patagonia nano for $150 that isn't the XXL size?

I think you are looking at the wrong jacket:

Jump on this if anyone wants to get this jacket. It's more breathable than nano puff so I alternate between this and the nano puff (I'm in the southwest, it's not as cold as the rest of the country)

any good alternative jackets to Atom with similar fit, material and good breathability?
I picked up a Patagonia nano air LIGHT last year (on the airline's dime after they delayed my bag) and like it a lot for similar use cases as the Atom LT.

It is a little different—insulated panels only on front/shoulders/outside of sleeve, with R1 fleece everywhere else. The Atom LT does the full back in insulated material…so I think this is more breathable but won't block a wind coming from behind (but feels better with a pack on).

Fit seems trimmer than the Patagonia outer layers/casual tops. Trimmer then my old Atom AR (which is a bit baggier than the LT).

Very good active layer. Having some wind protection on the front side is perfect for anything where you are moving.

Just get the nano-air "light" instead.

It's more breathable than this jacket.

Have two of these that are 5+ years old and they have held up great, the fit is fantastic and great for 40 to 15 degrees while active. but I would say 30-40f would be my usual range or 40-50.
