Yup, I purchased in June 2024 for this same price. Decent lump, but this is everyday Walmart price.

Try olive tree charcoal. It's expensive but burns for days. Light it, snuff it and use it again.

I don't have a ton of experience with different brands of charcoal, but I bought this based on the positive reviews here on slick deals. I was surprised by how many solid rocks were included. Is that normal in your experience, or did I just get unlucky?

This is my go to since Costco stopped selling the big cowboy bags.
I never had a single rock.

This is definitely better than Cowboy and Royal Oak. I actually prefer B&B briquettes, $10 for 17.6lbs at Walmart.

Not really unusual to find rocks and other debris in lump charcoal. I don't really mind unless it's plastic. You definitely do have to watch as you pour it though.

It happens from time to time with any lump charcoal. I've probably burned 4 dozen of these bags and have only gotten a few small rocks. I doubt you'll see another rock for quite some time.

Only from buying anything made from Royal Oak. They'll even throw in chunks of metal for good measure
