"The Hisense U8/U8K and TCL QM8/QM851G QLED are evenly matched, with only small differences. The TCL is a bit brighter in HDR and SDR, but the Hisense is more accurate in HDR and SDR. The TCL has slightly better image processing. Gamers might prefer the TCL, which has a noticeably faster response time than the Hisense. Ultimately, the Hisense is the better choice if you care about image accuracy. Otherwise, the TCL offers a slightly brighter image."
100 inch is bigger than 98 inch by about size of 20 inch screen.
Both are great TVs for the price. But for 2600$ U8K was a better deal IMO

The TCL has significantly more lighting zones, and thus less blooming and better zone transitions. The TCL is also a lot brighter than the already bright Hisense, in many cases around 1000 nits brighter.

I never did get to see all these side by side. Finally saw this big QM8 and it is awesome. I also saw the entry TCL at Costco yesterday playing actual movie content, and glad I didn't go that route. The hisense was beautiful but the VESA are so high up on that set that install would have been more complicated for my setup at least. But I never got to see the QM7, and I have a feeling we would have been satisfied with that one if we'd grabbed it when $2k instead. The latter seems to have enough stock for a possible post Christmas price drop. For new units. I don't want to play open box deal hunting with this size on top of panel lottery lol.

Sharp claimed a Dynamic Contrast Ratio:10,000,000:112,000,000:18,000,000:18,000,000:14,000,000:1
The things weighed a ton and broke soon after the 1 year warranty. Desperate people were trying to figure out what to do with their new paperweight.
I hope it's not the same with these 98~100 inch TVs
Can we get a little more hearsay/ conjecture/ speculation?

I also wonder what the 98 Hisense U8N will perform like , along with its price, will be like when it comes out
