Is there a way to stay multiple days in Tokyo as part of the trip/ticket?

Wow, didn't realize Okinawa was that far from the mainland.

Wish you could stay in Tokyo a few days tho.

there's actually a budget airline for domestic japan you may look into called Peach Airlines.

I was able to find tickets that allows for some Tokyo time for $713. Not bad!
i.e. LAX-Tokyo / Tokyo-Okinawa / Okinawa-LAX
(Just searched Booking.com for multi-city.)

I was advised to never book flights through OTA. Why is this a deal, am I missing something?

Problem comes from not being able to deal with the airline directly if there's a problem. They'll tell you to contact your OTA. I usually find a deal through an OTA, then check the airline's site directly with the same days and flights. Usually find the same deal and the airline is your contact then.

I saw something about if traveling from us and book with Japan airlines you can do domestic flights for basically free? So fly into here then any other flights within Japan are free when all booked together thru Japan airlines

I think that promotion is over. However, I believe they're still running deals on domestic flights if you book an international flight with them.

I'd suggest Kyoto over Tokyo. Much older and not as giant.
