This is more comparable to the $40 onn 4k pro, but with less ram and storage, but also half the price

You can download the verizon tv home app and view channels in your package while in your home network as long as you have the most recent tv packages, doesn't work on old tv packages like ultimate/extreme/preferred

This thing LOOKS identical to the new mini FiOS TV+ boxes they've been upgrading cable packages with over the past year. It's a two part setup - a streaming media server box that plugs into the router and a mini player that plugs into the TV. But I'm not convinced this gets live TV.

Does anyone know if this does indeed stream live TV channels from your FiOS cable package? The remote looks identical and has a guide button but this is described as more of a Roku-like device...

Hardwarewise it's very similar, I believe the software is different since the live tv on the fios tv+ models shows the tv packages channels, but on the stream device only shows Pluto and tubi

I have same issue, I have an old ultimate package with movie completer (hbo/cinemax) and redzone included, so I wouldn't switch to the newer packages

Will this work without Verizon service? As in just as a standalone Android TV box, not tied to any service? Does it "phone home" and need a Verizon account?
