Wanted to create a New thread for this....Now that it's Official the Youtube TV price increase in 2025 of 16% - from $72.99 to 82.99/month+taxes (in some states)...

If you go to Cancel your subscription, it will ask you the Reason - choose 'Cost' - I got a pop up saying Stay with us for 6 months at $72.99.... and Agree. Mine says 72.99 until June 2025 -
I will say, I got a generic confirmation email saying a Promo was applied to my account, However no details about the discount or how long --- I did print the screen with the pop up for my records.... also noticed when I first checked my account it said 12/27 - $72.99 and after I did the Cancel and looked again at the Billing page - it shows 12/27 - $82.99....
so time will tell.
EDITED to say - not sure if you're better off waiting until beginning of Jan to get full 6 months or if it matters - mines says promo good til June 2025...so I'll either get 5 months discounted or maybe 6 if they don't charge 82.99 in June.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep it through June to watch the NBA Finals. Then I'll put it on pause until football season. I really see no reason to keep it after the NBA and NFL seasons are over. I am the only person in the household regularly watching it, and mostly for late night shows. But those shows post the monologues on YouTube, so I might as well watch them there since I also pay for YouTube Premium.

I have NFL Sunday ticket so I probably didn't want to attempt this now.

I also have NFL Sunday Ticket. It still worked for me. As long as the button says continue cancelling it should be okay to click forward. Offer popped up after choosing cost like it does for everyone else.

Good for you and yes this is mainly a sports thing since all the options you mentioned will not get you access to very many live sporting events. As others have mentioned, it's very convenient having access to YoutubeTV on your phone and when you travel. I was just in Hawaii and since almost every VRBO/Hotel has a smart TV you can easily log into YoutubeTV and have instant access to all my shows, sports, and news. Also, not all TV news is junk. I find it very convenient to DVR record news from almost EVERY channel which YouTubeTV allows you to do. It's very convenient when there is a local situation occurring (fires for example) and I want to get the latest news on evacuations, road closures, etc. Also, you are missing out on a wide variety of very attactive weather girls which is an added bonus. lol.
Yes all TV news is junk. Enjoy watching your sports ball.

I was not able to get the popup on the website using Chrome, however I was able to chat with a rep and just said "retention discount" and they gave me a code zero questions asked.

Thanks OP!

Fubo says $78 for their package but then charges another $15-$20 extra as Regional sports fee. So just double check that before you subscribe.
At this point, the only thing YTTV really offers me are Regional Sports, and the ability to aggregate my network and cable shows within one app using the DVR. However, I already pay for nearly every streaming app there is out there anyway because of how our family uses them, so I can usually get most content through the streaming apps without commercials on demand a day later. So really, what I'm paying for at this point is the ability to watch my regional sports and $82.99/mo. is a lot of money.

Good idea about putting it on pause after NBA, especially seeing that I just took advantage of the 50% off annual NBA League Pass. Only problem is we're a Tennis watching household as well. Will be hard to drop YT TV for us on a whole, unless we decide we just not watching most sports anymore. See some YouTube personalities have some good advice on alternative services like Philo, Sling and antenna. Those are also inferior services to YT TV but good cost cutting measures, if you're not much into sports.

Taxes & fees are included.
You don't need Gig internet.
We ran 3-4 streams & my son gaming on a 300/20 plan for a long time. We have Gig internet now because of a promotion that made it the same price as the 300, but not needed.

None of these live tv streaming services are worth it. Better off developing hobbies in real life or playing video games.
