I have a few of these, they are definitely a $60 reel, these have been out for a very long time. I wouldn't say they are a great deal at this price though. Solid and durable.

I bought an older model XT in 2021 for $50 in 2021. Adjusted for inflation, this is a great deal. Everytime an XT sale comes up, people get them mixed up with the cheaper model.

If there is a better lightweight reel for $60, I don't know what it is. Extremely light and smooth.

Did you get the XT or XT limited edition? The LE was a little lighter and awesome. I bought two of those in 2021 for $50 each. The XT is awesome in itself though.

I have 2 president xt limited edition which i bought like 4 years ago on cabellas sale. one is still new in the box, but another one i used quite a lot and it started to show big issues in the last year, like rotation got very rough, it occasionally spins in the opposite direction when twitching. So I would say for 60 bucks it is an OK deal, the reel is nice when new, but there are questions with reliability. In that price range I tend to like more the Daiwa legalis family (legalis lt, regal lt, exceller lt), daiwa's are smoother and lighter and have more drug.

Which one is lighter?

Basspro said the XT 2500 is 7oz. Daiwa says their legalis XT 2500 is 7.2 oz.

Mine is still doing great. Rotation isn't rough

I've bought this reel in the past. It's good when it works. Mine broke after only two seasons and I take care of my reels.
