ABS construction, but might be worth taking a chance at this price. 10 yr warranty for whatever that's worth.

Thanks!
Got 3 25" softside for upcoming international trip to use as a checked bag.

Had a bad experience with the hardside bag on my last trip. Not this brand and wasn't a reputable brand.

On black Friday we bought the 29" version of the Swiss Gear Sion. We'll be returning it as the wheels are clunky when starting to push it from a stop. After moving it's fine, but just difficult to get moving. It feels like it's going to fall over when starting up, when full would be a nightmare to deal with when traveling.

In for 2 25" softsides. Gets excellent reviews for the price. Gearlab awarded SwissGear Sion the best value luggage. This will be perfect for us casual travelers. Thanks!

Soft side always has that problem, balancing issues.

Hard side is gold cuz its sides are equally split with he partition cloth.

Bur hard shell can get more damage than soft side.

Decisions decisions it's never easy

Soft or hard
25 or 28 or 29.

So are these any good? Can you link the best luggage if we are willing to pay more for quality?

I would have been interested in 25" softside but at almost 10lbs weight - I'll pass..
Most airlines checkins have 50lbs weight limit - I'd like to have dry weight of the luggage at 6-7lbs.

The weight is not horrible, but that's the downside of soft-side luggage. Check out Travel Pro as they have 25 inch soft-sided for just under 7 lbs, but you won't be able to find anything with this price point.

I bought a Samsonite soft-sided marketed as "lightweight" - and it weighs a whopping 11 lbs. Go figure.

24" Hardside is showing OOS

I would have gone with 25" Softside but looking at those wheels, I will pass. Have learned hard way after buying many single wheels ones that all those give up sooner than later (get suck, hard to get moving, etc. etc.). For check-in bags, I will now buy bags with only double wheels.

I have it for more than 10 years. I fly between 1 to 4 times a month and always check my luggage. This is indestructible.

TravelPro (e.g., Maxlite) or Samsonite (e.g., Omni 2) are pretty good for the money. If you buy hardsided, make sure it's made from polycarbonate, not ABS or polypropylene. Checked luggage should be expandable, since you tend to return with more than they left with, and dual wheels are better than single wheels.
