Can you elaborate why you think they're different? I bought these when they were posted on SD in Feb. 2023 for $18, and they are exactly like the ones in the images. I only use mine for dry goods, like pastas, cereal, etc. and as far as I can tell they've held up well.
It's probably the same set. Initially the lid snaps on a few mine had a tendency to open, but over time as the plastic got used to being folded down it stopped being an issue for me.
I understand what you mean now. They're slightly opaque, which is more visible in the video on the Amazon product page. I think "Clear" is a reference to the gasket at the top. Other options say "Blue" and "Black gasket"

No, they are not totally clear, however, generally totally clear containers are often very brittle, which means they can shatter if dropped (yes I have done this with the oxo pop containers everyone loves). Those that are totally clear and more resilient (eg cambro classic squares) appear to use BPA to achieve that. (I haven't tested the Rubbermaid brilliance but I don't like the form factor or cost). Personally I don't really care about the boxes being perfectly clear β want it perfectly clear, nice looking and food safe? Then you want glass.
No, they aren't "perfectly" air tight, but imo they are at least as good as the oxo pops with a more reliable open/close mechanism. We broke the latch on almost every oxo pop we had (and technically the tops are not dishwasher safe). I've not broken any of these lids, although it's clear they have wear points at the fold and may eventually break, but at under $1 apiece I'm ok with it.
The form factor is great, the two smallest sizes generally can contain the amount of crunchy snacks you usually get from eg Trader Joe's. The small size is surprisingly versatile and allows you to densely pack small amounts of dry goods in your pantry (vs storing a bunch of air). The lids dont waste a bunch of space on opening mechanisms (like the oxo pops) and the empty containers nest pretty well. Full containers stack great. Kids can drop the container and no worries about the lid coming off.
No problem putting these through the dishwasher, mine have been washed hundreds of times at this point.
I recently spent some time trying to find another container that would work better (a buy it for life option). I love the cambro stuff I have but it is just too big for most items (smallest is usually 2L which is huge!) They make a smaller (.5 and 1l) cam square freshpro that is bpa free but it is 1) expensive and 2) still pretty big and 3) I find the square footprint less convenient than the slim rectangular shape (you'll wind up with more stacked vertically items). I found I preferred the chefs path over the objectively better made cambros.
In my opinion the only problem with these is they do not ship sets with just the two smallest sizes. The largest size is almost totally worthless, it's way too big to be useful (yeah let me store my six open bags of spaghetti!). The next to largest size is ok but mostly just cereal or like, popcorn comes in amounts that necessitate it, and then you are quickly storing a bunch of air (I'd rather store this stuff in multiples of the smaller sizes). We have a small kitchen and our "pantry" is basically drawers in cabinets and it is a waste of space to leave enough room for the largest size.
Anyways, this seems like a great price, I am not sure I've seen it this low before. I bought a set to augment our current collection and now I expect to be set for the next 10 years or so.
