I called to find out if the motherboards have 2 full size M.2 NVME SSD slots. the iBuyPower tech rep said they do. There are 3 motherboard options depending on the build batch.

MSI Pro B650 motherboard spec sheet https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/P...cification

Agree with nicemann. The recent $999 7900 GRE deal from Walmart was a step up from this one, and came with more storage and RAM. The 7900GRE itself is also slightly better overall than the base 4070 according to community testing (outside of a few specific cases). Somewhere between a 4070 and 4070ti, although different sites are reporting different rankings, it's in that ballpark. Most common comparison I've seen is that it is similar to the 4070 Super (aka 4070 Refresh, an upgrade to the base 4070).

Don't want to get too deep into a side-conversation about NVIDIA vs AMD, but it is true that NVIDIA as the dominant GPU maker and market leader tends to have more software features and driver updates available initially, and it usually takes a bit more time for AMD and Intel to catch up. That being said, it usually doesn't take too long for the others to catch up with reasonable driver updates and feature releases. If you don't care about being on the absolute cutting edge in terms of software optimization and features, it probably won't be an issue for you.

The only real catch to that particular AMD deal was that a lot of the computers from that deal were using a Western Digital SSD with an old firmware version that had conflicts with newer versions of Windows 11, causing BSOD crashes. Many people in that thread did say that there's a good chance the computer will pop up on sale again but be "open box" because so many people bought it and the less-tech-savvy buyers probably didn't know how to upgrade the SSD firmware, leading to more potential people returning the computer if they run into problems. The solution was super easy to do though, so the tech-savvy buyers got a fantastic deal with no real caveats.

That being said, I'm not encouraging anyone to wait for a new sale on that particular build. This is still a solid deal more in line with people's expectations. The other one was just a once-in-a-blue-moon event (hence why it absolutely blew up here on SlickDeals and sold out within like 2 days).

In terms of CyberpowerPC vs IBUYPOWER, it seems like the general consensus is they operate in a similar tier. I've seen tons of people both complimenting and complaining about their respective build qualities and customer service (and a lot of the "evidence" to back up either side is anecdotal, so it's hard to really tell if one is truly better than the other). I haven't taken a look at their particular warranties, but in terms of just the product you'll get something similar (hello to the incoming "no, actually you're wrong!" crew ready to tell me just how wrong I truly am). Product failure is always a part of the risk of buying any prebuilt, so you'll have to do your best to determine whether or not the value proposition being offered up front is worth the risk, and how good their warranties or return policies are in event that your product does fail.

Once NVIDIA and AMD announce their next GPU lineups early next year, prices will go down for current gen GPUs and prebuilts using them. If people don't mind how current gen runs, it might be worth it to wait a few months for that inevitable price adjustment. However, it should also be noted that there's a chance that starting next year the Trump administration will place tariffs on various imports to the US, resulting in an increase in prices for things like computer parts. So it may be a wiser decision now to make a purchase. But that's all theory at this point. We won't know for sure until it happens.
Don't forget about what tariffs are going to do prices, especially electronics.

False. The 7900 runs at 280w and draws much more power, which generates more heat. The benchmarks between the base 4070 and the 7900 GRE are neck and neck, with the 4070 having better rasterization, ray tracing and performing better in certain games like Cyberpunk. The Super beats the GRE by a solid 10-15%.
Techpowerup has the 7900GRE at roughly 15% better overall relative performance than a base 4070. This deal is not a 4070 Super which is also trailing the GRE by 2% on Techpowerup.

Tell me about it, made me finally pull the trigger on buying a TV and a piano. I shudder to think how much more expensive those things would be with tariffs on top. It's like we're back to the 1920s with the consumption tax.

I bought this, would like to add more RAM, should I go with another 2x8gb for total of 32gb, or will it affect performance if I add 2x16gb for total of 48gb?
It's better to remove the 16gb currently installed and replace with a 32gb kit of DDR5 6000, no need to go faster. It has to do with how the memory controller uses the Ram.

Are these applied automatically if you use paypal to checkout and a chase card while in paypal? I'm logged in but don't really see anything showing this on my end.

Does the motherboard have 2 M.2 slots for a 2nd Crucial 4TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD? I want to put all of my photos/videos on SSD (3+TB). What is the motherboard? Slickdeals says model is Y40BA7N4701, but thats an Intel machine on iBUYPOWER.com.
Is it 1 stick of memory so I can just drop in a second? Or 2 8gb sticks?

I tried ordering 6 times and they cancelled each time immediately. I had to call but they don't do orders on the phone and the rep escalated. I got an email next day that I could order. I reckon they probably took some flag off my account.

I would say this is a fair deal with 4070, but unfair to compare on price-performance aspect of previous deal.
Unsure what you mean by unfair, my thought is that here in Slickdeals we help out prospective buyers determine if if the deal is worth it or not. Regardless of any previous deals, this is the best deal at the moment.

If Micro Center has the same exact model and price match, why not? Maybe there are more desktop PC deals in the future before Xmas.

It's just not worth it to me. If it had 32 GB RAM, it would be more interesting. I wouldn't pay this much and then have to pay even more to get the memory upgraded. The storage is also less than the previous deal mentioned.

Prices MIGHT go down. Assuming new GPU's are actually priced to offer better value vs what's currently available (😂😭), prices won't go down much initially because it'll be hard to get your hands on any of the new GPU's for a few months. Prices will definitely be lower by summer in that case, but by how much is anybody's guess, and that's multiple months without a new system.

What's more likely to happen is new GPU's will provide similar or worse value vs what's currently available (at least from Nvidia), meaning you pay 50% more for 50% more performance or 100% more for 100% more performance etc etc AT BEST. Nvidia didn't stop producing all their current gen heavy hitter GPU's because people stopped buying them. Add potential tariffs into the mix and a lot of people may be looking back on this deal as "the good times".

I'm personally holding out hope that AMD will release a GPU with comparable raster performance to a 7900XT/XTX but with substantially better RT performance for a mid-range price, but I'm not desperate for a GPU right now.
