I just purchased the cheaper 98" one from TCL for $1500 at Best Buy with free delivery and installation. Coming Tuesday. Now I am wondering if I should switch to this one which I assume has a better picture.

Worth it?

I'd recommend going to a store like Best Buy and seeing them side by side. I was considering a QM7 which is step or two above that $1500 one and looking at it side by side with the QM8 (especially slightly off angle) I went with the QM8 hands down, that was at $4k, now at $3k for me it's a no brainer (they price adjusted so that made me very happy to save $1k one day after a purchase decision. Nothing wrong with the $1500 one though so it's completely personal.

Rtings says the QM7 has better off angle viewing. However, I have seen them both and agree the QM8 is definitely better off axis. Maybe the 98 inch got some different treatment.

How far off angle can you be with a 98" TV?! You can't be anywhere near it without going blind!

Decided to cancel the QM7.
In for this one. Can't wait until it gets here. I really wanted to buy on Bestbuy as same price and they install for free. But no stock ;(. So purchased this one as I can get it the 26th.

Glad it wasn't just me. I was expecting to see the QM7 shine in store and was really surprised the QM8 looked great off angle in comparison.
