"13" PixelSense Flow display with 2880 x 1920 resolution" -- is that an OLED display or just IPS? I can never tell because the models with OLED also say "PixelSense Flow". The item has pictures and one says OLED and one says LCD, so that doesn't help clarify!

Why is MS pushing so hard for ARM? Someone must be getting kickback.
If MS is trying to optimize their OS or hardware (especially in such a tiny formfactor on the hardware side) they can't just play the middle of the field to accommodate every possible CPU contender. Same goes for the ARM's architecture for implementing it.
But yes, many long term business strategies are based on mutually agreed on goals and cooperation. Everyone doesn't just show up to the party after years of independent working hoping their round peg fits in the other's square hole

Because they are not selling, now they are desperate with promo to get this snapdragons arm base laptop to sell. Dont see this having a future after it failed so bad.

Exactly. This is a great deal, but not for me because it is ARM. There are still compatibility issues with some apps.

Because Mac has killed the competition with battery life and performance on their ARM chips for the macbooks and now Windows can only catch up and Intel and AMD can't deliver without massive battery consumption or heat dissipation so the future is ARM. Only thing pending is vendors recompiling their apps to ARM which Mac ran into when they switched from intel to ARM also
Back in 2019 with the first Surface Pro X on sq1 arm-based cpu, it was a move to try and gain better runtimes much like the 2020 Macbook M1 launch.
In 2024/2025, doesn't matter anymore. The latest Intel Lunar Lakes run all day with good performance and 100% compatibility. For MS, mostly a server/cloud cpu to lower power consumption.
Despite the power-hungry OLED on the msi, Runtimes within 6% of a similar Surface Laptop 7 arm with similar performance, 13% of a Macbook Air M2 8-core with faster performance - all over 800 minutes of Wi-Fi surfing, well over a regular 8-hour workday.
...
SP10 or next year's sp11 on Intel would be the smartest alternatives in a new sp for performace, otherwise, go for used sp6 to sp9 cheaper. MS releases a new model yearly, so the depreciation is hard and fast, making used older models a steal.
.....
One look at Amazon reviews.
Sp11 - 29% 1 to 3 stars
Sp9 - 12% 1 to 3 stars
Obviously, people hate the incompatibility because 5-10%~ negative reviews are normally just dropped and broken during shipment and the rest all due to the product.
.....
The $899 is a hard avoid. Not even under $500 open box like the spx v1, spx v2, sp9 arm all went for on best buy.
FWIW, I'm still rocking my 2020 Surface Pro X (with an ARM CPU) and I *love* this thing. I'm posting this from it now. Awesome multi-day battery life, runs all the software I use on a daily basis, super light, perfect for traveling... really no issues all. Highly recommend, especially at this price. Wouldn't hesitate to buy this if my SPX ever stopped working.

Thank you for the notebookcheck.net link.
Is it new CPU gen from intel such as Ultra 7 and 9 , have similar power consumption with ARM such as Apple M1/M2 ? What about the performance Ultra 9 vs M4 ?

Cinebench R15 Multi Loop
MSI Intel + Oled 1551
Surface Laptop 7 SnapX 1681
Macbook Air 13 M2 Entry 955
Despite oled in the msi, Runtimes of the latest Intel cpu within 6% of a similar Surface Laptop 7 SnapX with similar performance, 13% of a Macbook Air M2 with better performance.
So for regular office workers, students, and such, Intel cpu gives them the best laptop of the bunch - performance vs runtime vs compatibility - at the entry level range of laptops.
....
You'd have to jump up to an expensive Pro to get much better Mac performance.
Macbook Pro 14 M4 Entry 2401
Rog Zephyrus G14 2024 amd 2622
And then under heavy load, 91 minutes Pro vs 64 minutes G14. So a 42% better runtime only for those on a more expensive, fast Macbook Pro rather than the entry level Air vs SnapX vs Lunar Lakes....if such users are away from the AC.
Which, flipping the question, if no laptop in existence runs 8 hours under Heavy Loads away from AC, just who is the extra half hour benefiting?
.....
Above midrange, NOTHING Macbook Pro $5000+ can beat a cheaper 4090 PC Laptop for performance. Just doesn't exist....because no Mac has a 4090.
And add to insult, that $5000+ Mac is incompatible with a wide slew of top 3d graphics, video editing, sfx, gaming, etc apps and peripherals, whereas the cheaper 4090 laptop is 100% compatible.
