I am in both the Ryobi and Bosch 18v tool environment. I reach for the Bosch tools when I have serious projects and Ryobi for when I am doing household-type tasks. I do believe that Ryobi is getting stronger and have been reaching for them more and more.

Ryobi is made by Emerson, the same company that makes Rigid for Home Depot. Good lineage there.

I have Bosch tools I bought 34 years ago and they work as good now as when I bought them.

Would you get dedicated tools or the chameleon bundle?

This is a good deal. Bosch is underated in the tool comparisons. I'm a dewalt guy myself but use Bosch on work jobs occasionally. Quality of tools is really good. Their ecosystem is lacking if you want a zillion tools, but if you just need the basics then they shouldn't be ignored.

Not exactly. Techtronic Industries (TTI) Makes both Ryobi and Ridgid power tools along with Milwaukee. Emerson owns the Ridgid name which it licenses to TTI.

Either or if you're a homeowner. Depends on if you need a circ saw.

Chameleon that's on sale is usually is the 12v lighter and more compact.

12v is enough for most homeowner tasks. 20v is overkill unless you also do heavy work.

That said, this tool combo is a good deal. Bosch makes great tools that can take a beating. If you have batteries from other brands you can buy adaptors from ebay but be aware that you lose some power but not enough to notice unless you are doing heavier work.

chameleon isn't an impact.

this is a budget kit, the circ saw is not brushless bit weak, the impact hex is just useful at times removing some light fasteners (fence,etc)...metabo hpt is better. The light 300 lumens...just get the big worx one (they are also really good at warranties).

I use bosch 12v for everything as i can pack the entire bosch 12v set on a small cart. I do have 18v as well but only use that for say i'm building a deck and driving billion screws , otherwise they're needless weight, bigger, bigger charger, need to pack more stuff, etc.

I see $349 at Lowe's. Is there a trick, or is that deal dead?

I would have jumped on this if the tools were from the A team. They make profactor drill that is much more powerful. And the saw is kinda small. Also the "freak" impact is notorious for not being good at being a wrench or driver due to them hollowing out the anvil for that feature
