Not bad if you want the 24-70mm f4, it's worth at lease $400, making the Z6 $500, which is a steal for a full frame.

The other deals, Z6 body or Z6II body are meh

$900 deal is very good. A refurb 24-70 f4 is $500 if you're lucky, if I wanted that lens I'd get it and sell the Z6. (I want the 24-120 f4 instead).

KEH is asking $900 for used Z6s, I bet they'll pay at least $400 for one.

This is a really good deal. MPB is selling a Z6 for $714 in excellent condition and the lens for $419. Next best I can find for these is $1133....or about a 20% discount.

I think it would be worth the extra hassle to sell this lens on ebay / facebook marketplace / etc, and buy the 24-120z...its optically better in MTFs at 24-70 and it is eleventy-billion times better at 71-120.

Any idea why this isn't getting front page like the recent z6ii for $1350 and z7 for $1200 deals?

At $900, this is significantly cheaper. Same lens. Seems that z6ii is a marginal upgrade (dual cards, dual processors, same sensor) and z7 has a resolution bump but otherwise the same.

bonus is MPB gives a warranty on their sold items. I've been a customer for years and all arrived as described or better. Not a fan of KEH as they refuse to list shutter count and even if requested, they won't disclose. Would you buy a used car without knowing the mileage? No me.

Possibly because too many folks trying to justify their newer purchases have sort of "review bombed" the Expeed 6 generation cameras. 4 years ago, this was next in line for Nikon's top end camera. Meanwhile, 4 years ago, professionals who do weddings for their livelihood were buying z6s as second bodies alongside the z7.

I'm not saying the z6(ii)/z7 have autofocus capabilities as good as the ZF, z6iii, z8 or z9, but for most folks they are still spectacular cameras, with every bit of the ability to capture world-class images... but some folks who want the newest shiny stuff or possibly who RELY on the newest to compensate for their lack of skill, they go out of their way to talk about skipping these bodies.

2 years ago, buying a z6 for $1200 was a steal... getting a 24-70 f4 for $600 was a STEAL.... now getting both $900 should be a steal. It's not like the NL-15 batteries or XQD, CF Express cards are going out of style. A z6 body will last insanely long, even more-so if one minimizes the usage of the physical shutter.

People probably think Z6II is better than Z6 and Z7 is better than Z6, so are disregarding this body, but for many people it offers just as much as those two.

I'm surprised the Z6 and Z7 are so cheap. I don't recall DSLRs ever getting this cheap after just 4 years.

Actually your "facts" are wrong here in a few areas:

1. Wedding pros HATED and mocked the Z6 and Z7 as being "Pro" level from the moment they were announced because of its single card slot. So no, pros were not buying Z7s and then a Z6 as a backup.

2. The AF abilities of the Z6, Z6 II, Z7 and Z7II are very lacking and not even close to what Nikon bodies can do from the Z9 forward. But the Z6, Z6 II, Z7, ZII AF isn't all the different from each other. The Mark II's have slightly better human eye AF but terrible animal eye AF and non-existent bird eye AF.

3. The Z6 is a 6+ year old body, released in 2018. The Z6 II was rushed out two years later because the OG models were sales failure because it lacked so much for its original price.

4. It was not Nikon's 2nd best camera. It was its 2nd best Mirrorless body, but also the Z7, which was the top mirrorless body was NOT considered the flagship by Nikon. That was still the D5 then. And Nikon Pros still considered the D850 the 2nd best Nikon overall. The Z6 and Z7 were considered experiments and "beta" at the time of release.

----

That said for casual use the Z6 kit is an incredible camera for $900 IF it's Nikon refurbished. But it's NOT an event or wildlife camera. It's nice for studio work where quick AF is not essential. It has excellent IQ and color and ISO can be pushed to about 5000 without issue.
I owned a Z6 until the Z7 II was released. I enjoyed the Z6 despite its shortcomings and traded up to the Z7 II when it was released in hopes Nikon fixed what needed improvement. That didn't work out so I switched to the R5.

Cool. Yeah my use case is 20% family events, 30% bedroom kinkiness, and 50% pics of the dogs. I had a D5100 for years, totally made that work for anything I needed, and expect this to be an upgrade in all respects.

I know I don't NEED full frame but for $900 with a decent lens (and I'll probably get the 50mm 1.8 S at some point) I figure why not. I bet this package doesn't really depreciate much more in 2-3 years so I'm really just borrowing it for the cost of inflation.

The z6ii + 24-70F4 refurb deal for $1350 is back up on Nikon's website. [nikonusa.com]

I have high regard for Nikon refurbs. I've bought 6+ refurbed lens and bodies and only once could i tell . the only issue was a slightly mis-printed button on a D7200

z6ii is $1350 on Nikon's website right now. Yes that's $450 difference, but Z6 requires expensive cfExpress. 2 CFExpress cards will be $300, and budget shooters likely have a stack of SD cards.

In other words the $450 difference is close to zero if you factor in the cost of cfExpress upgrade.

Received my refurbished z6 kit today, there are many scraches on the camera body and lens, the lens cap is not original. However, the shutter count is 0, so maybe Nikon have reset it.

Received my Nikon Z6 kit. Mine looks brand new! It is 100% nikon usa refurbished. All the packaging indicates so and it was very nicely wrapped and protected. Zero scratches anywhere. My shutter count was 90.
