Sylvania® Bluetooth® LED Smart Light Bulb - 4 Pack

$3.36 + shipping + processing fee + tax

Processing fee appears to be flat $2.80

Shipping is fairly expensive for 1 compared to the price of the item, but still a good deal with shipping. I paid $14 to ship 6 packs and a couple other items.

Also appear to be a available for in store pickup.

These are smart but use Bluetooth instead wifi which can be good if you are worried about security.

Vibrant and accurate color rendering
Not compatible with dimmer switches

Bluetooth is nice too. But in terms of security, you could potentially be shifting the vulnerability to the installed app. overall, lowering the security risk. still better than the no hub direct wifi connection or Chinese apps with wifi connection.

I bought 12 of these in the past. 8 worked somewhat. 4 were doa. After connectivity failures I trashed them all. I would rather have LED "dumb" bulbs over these but I prefer smart bulbs that are controlable with Alexa. For as long as a bulb lasts, paying a few dollars more to not have the aggravation of these bulbs is well worth it to me.

Unfortunately I got a call saying they only had enough to fulfill part of my order so I don't think others will go through.

I have bought several different types of these Sylvania Bluetooth bulbs in the past. Expect no end of frustration, rebooting and reconnecting them. That's why they are cheap.

Are we concerned someone will hack our lightbulbs and….change the color? Turn them off? Or off and back on again? 😆

You're obviously a security expert 🙄 🤣

Once someone gains a foot hold into your network through a device such as this, an adversary may pivot to other devices on the network. Have you not heard about Target and how they got pwn'd because hackers got into their network through the HVAC? You might think that's silly to secure the HVAC huh ?

This is true. But unless your worth targeting like Target (🎯) most hackers wouldn't hack into any Joe Schmo

Joe Schmo could be an excellent member of the bot net.

I got hacked years ago and my computer was being used to break into peoples Facebook accounts.

These are notoriously horrible for connection issues. I installed 2 dozen throughout my house. They intermittently work, and once in a while they lose connection and just turn off. I am slowly replacing them with normal, dumb LED bulbs.

They are cheap for the reason. Really inconsistent with bluetooth connectivity. I tried them once and returned it within a week.

All humans will have some sort of electronic or IOT device in their house. So not just applying to these bulbs.

Joe Schmo could be an admin or an exec at big corp and be targeted. Look at the admin at LastPass, he got hacked for sensitive info cause not everyone follows security policy.

With your logic, you might as well not password protect anything or use simple pasweords, including your wifi. Lol
