Fyi, there are various compatibility issues for the android model. It states it's compatible with Android 12 and newer, but buried it says there are several (popular) chipsets that have various issues. I have experienced those issues with my Pixel 7 and 8 Pro.l and can no longer use it.

I bought this for personal use to check my home yearly. I found the resolution really disappointing. Topdon sells at a similar price point without the deal but with much better specs imo. With the deal it's more reasonable but I wouldn't prefer it.

No it's not good for people in the woods.
This along with all phone thermal units are designed for <10ft only. They use different sensors than those cheap hunting units that designed for detecting thermal signals further out.
Different products different purpose. These are great for electricians and professional users conducting inspections but NOT for hunting or surveillance.

So I have an iPhone 15. I'm guessing neither of these work on my phone?

Low demand. The only two home uses seem to be checking your wall insulation and for hobby electronics to see hot chips.

You forgot for those paranormal activities too.

1. Checking the home for large sources of heat loss, such as areas of the attic that don't have sufficient insulation.
The cost of entry-level thermal cameras can more than pay for itself in heating bill savings.

2. Diagnosis of electrical and mechanical devices for areas overheating.
The poor resolution of this device makes it mire useful for large devices like electrical breaker panels rather than microcapacitors on a motherboard.
Can be used to spot general areas of over heating in AC units, car motors, etc.

3. To detect live animals and people in the cold night. Limited range versus a rifle thermal scope, so instead of detecting things a mile away, think a few houses away in distance.

....

Most use for 1, then sell when done insulating.

But I'd strongly avoid this Flir because of the non-user replaceable battery and very poor resolution vs the same price, smaller, better Seek Thermal Nano.

Sounds like best to avoid this one. But I am curious if something like this can see warm spots on dry wall from a rat or some small creature. I hear what I think is scratching in the wall at a friend's home, and before poking holes in the wall was wondering if something like this could identify warm spots that might move if there is a creature there, and see when it moves from spot to spot.

Don't get this if you're thinking about using it to hunt. Imaging is poor compared to a useable cheap thermal monocular (check out their cheap Flir monocular line). You can only make 'thermal image' out to 25 yards. And if you're lucky enough to not getting detected while being so close to the animal, imagine their surprise when you light up the night with your mobile phone screen.

What did you use it for at your home? Im looking at this to find out where the drafts are. Do we really need that detailed resolution? This is $150 vs topdon which is $230 (looking at Android versions)
I used it for general home inspection and for checking for water intrusion after hurricanes. The FLIR has really low resolution but would be fine for water intrusion cause of usually the wide area and stark contrast. Need is definitely hard to definitely say but the extra resolution makes it easier to use because it's easier to see for me I had some poor door sealing that the FLIR missed but I could see with the Topdon. The Topdon goes on sale occasionally as well so I'd wait for a sale and not pay $230

The FLIR ONE EDGE and FLIR ONE EDGE PRO models support the latest USB-C iPhones
Previous usb-c SHOULD support new iPhones. And the fact that it doesn't, and they make yet another model specifically for usb-c iPhones, tells me not to support this company.

The previous USB-C models were released prior to the USB-C iPhones. Also the models indicated are not SPECIFICALLY for USB-C iPhones. They are Bluetooth and are model agnostic. The video does lag more than the first generation lightning connector version, however.
