Been tracking these all year and this is a very good price; likely will not see cheaper (especially with free ship). My son plays school and AAU ball, he prefers the Evolution and the EVO NXT to other balls. So I buy these when they go on sale and put them away when he wears one out.

These are indoor "game" balls BTW, if used outdoors (concrete, asphalt, et al) it will wear out quickly.

The indoor game balls like this one are full leather, not composite leather or rubber for outdoor use. The indoor balls have been high for a while now and it's not just limited to Wilson, Spaulding's are just as high.
The Wilson Evolution is a microfiber composite material.

The Evolutions seem to be on the way out in favor of the Wilson EVO NXT. Here in Illinois, the EVO NXT will be used in the state tournament series this year and most schools have already made the switch.

Can anyone share what is the best outdoor ball?
Personally, the Adidas All-court is the best outdoor ball I've used and I've tried quite a few including more expensive balls. It goes on sale sub $15 but I'd buy it at full price if I needed one. I have like 10 of them at home in a couple sizes (have 3 boys at home) as I tend to buy a couple whenever it goes on sale lol.

fact: the most stolen ball. be sure to put your name on it.

side note: the forge on sale for $11 is a great outdoor grinder... that deal is super slick. this is decently slick.

Everyone at the YMCA has regular or yellow colors. Would be nice if the other colors went on sale.

I like the Wilson Wave. It has little waves in it (still a normal ball) so that when the normal grip wears out, you still have something to anchor your hand to.
I second this. dust/dirt makes alot of other balls slippery. The waves on the Wave give you a chance at a normal playing experience outdoors that you get indoors. I seen some reviews saying its unfair outside as it gives players extra grip ... After 1 day of playing outdoors, it just evens things out. Although i can get find a good deal on it in past 5 years. I bought it slightly used off Ebay recently.

Indoors, i liked my Wilson Evolution, The Rock, and Baden Elite. All very good indoor balls.
Although some lose air fast in the car esp in cold weather so i always keep this pump around (30% coupon... hmm i may buy another one hehe):

It's not the best. A good one, yes. Evo nxt and the leather options are better.

The Evolution is the best basketball by a million miles. I've been playing pickup 2-3x/ week for 20 years and nothing else comes close.

HOWEVER the last 3 times I've ordered an Evolution on sale online, the quality has been subpar. There have been gaps/ridges in the seams which I've found very annoying.

Instead of ordering online I always just buy in person at Dick's or Walmart so I can make sure I'm getting a quality ball. If you get a good ball, this is a solid deal though. They do not often go on sale.

80 bucks retail? wth! these retailed for 55 not to long ago. Glad I bought a few when they were around $30. Great indoor ball for sure.
By "not too long ago" you mean like 10 years ago? They've been this non-sale/Retail price for years now.

You can search to see the previous sales of this. I bought at $30 as well. They weren't $80 retail and it was within the past 4 years

He said retail… not sale price. These have not retailed for $55 on a long time.

Also, please show me a $30 deal that wasn't some very YMMV deal. A good sale price is in this $50-60 range and they typically only come around a few times a year at best for the 29.5 size.

It'll be the new TF-1000 that you can no longer buy anymore. Better stock up now.
