Been tracking these all year and this is a very good price; likely will not see cheaper (especially with free ship). My son plays school and AAU ball, he prefers the Evolution and the EVO NXT to other balls. So I buy these when they go on sale and put them away when he wears one out.

These are indoor "game" balls BTW, if used outdoors (concrete, asphalt, et al) it will wear out quickly.

Can anyone share what is the best outdoor ball?
I don't know if anyone has tried them all to actually have the answer, and even if everyone had, no one would agree. That said, I have always preferred the Spalding Zio [amazon.com]. Just be sure its a composite and not rubber for the real ball feel/grip. I also think the Zio has a good weight, as outdoor balls can often be too light, which can screw you up when going indoors to an Evo.

I disagree with the Zio balls being good and there are multiple versions of this ball. They all run out of grip fairly quickly and after a month, they become smooth and hard. A very uncomfortable feeling in your hands. I've tried 2 versions of the Zio ball and my buddies have other versions but it's never the game ball because the grip wears out fast and you're left with this smooth hard ball.

A couple of years ago I price matched with one of these deals at Dicks and got the 28.5. It's one strategy that may work.
Whoa, that is an excellent idea! I'll give that a shot! Thank you!

This is the gold standard for indoor basketball. There are cheaper ones but this one is the best.

Regarding outdoor balls going smooth -back in the 70's my friends named my ball: "Slick Watts"
Look him up if you don't get it LOL.
Usually played with Slick Watts balls -went through them fast as a kid. Think it helped improve my handle!

While that same Wilson Evolution ball was loved by many for years, there were some other competitors in this space at that time. There is also licensing ties to this as well. Wilson was not the official NBA ball brand at that time, Spalding was. It looks like that change occurred in 2021, so I'm sure that also helped with the popularity and adoption of that ball being the go-to indoor ball as time progressed, thus causing a spike in the price as well.

I wonder after supply chains got fixed a couple years after that initial rush of demand to stock up on everything when covid hit, if companies are just keeping prices high and screwing over consumers. like inflation is now low compared to other nations, pretend 1-2% per year (don't know the exact #'s), but they raised prices 10-20% pretend that one or 2 years in 2020/2021 and never lowered them (and hence why consumers are angry).

Yes that has happened too. We all get screwed.
