You have lumped intrinsic limitations of local storage solar cameras as a problem of cheap Chinese camera. That is disingenuous. I have been waiting years for someone to come up with a camera that doesn't require me to run power through my attic and still allow rtsp.

Is this different from the s340? Saw a reddit thread saying they are the same
https://www.reddit.com/r/EufyCam/...s3_costco/

edit: most replies below say it is the same, but packaging is different so don't plan to rebuy/return different packaging from another retailer

Is this like all other Chinese cameras?

Typical Chinese cam in 2024:

1. Delayed start of recording (miss the most important part, like car driving by or person's face coming up to the door).

2. Only records 10-20 seconds even if motion is 5 minutes.

3. Long cool off , so next recording doesn't happen for a few minutes and lots of things happen meanwhile that are not recorded.

4. Horrible app for viewing. Rewinding, skipping.

5. No multicam view option in the app.

6. No windows app. No IP connection.

7. Incompatible with all 3rd party apps like tinycam pro and Blue Iris.

8. Ignores the motion area and does random recording regardless of where the motion is. So a leaf moves it records then goes into 5min cool off and misses important event.

9. Human detection is paid feature.

10. No direct contact to camera by opening port or VPN to home address.

I don't understand why the Chinese apps are soo horrible while their hardware and cam quality is great.
This is the best of its kind though lol

Can confirm it is the same. The app shows both names for it during setup.

WTH!!! I thought this was already lowest at $120 during Black Friday! Tempted to return the Amazon one, but I suspect the packaging is different

It was and also 110 in-store at Costco. Regular price has been 150. This almost seems like a price mistake since Costco in-store is 110 again posted as $40 off. This deal is actually 70 off, so I got another one!

Good breakdown— I believe all of it.

I'd pass on a solar camera. I was down for them until Nov/Dec came and mine wouldn't charge. Plus it's only about 2-4% charging per day. Well, after very little sunlight my S220s battery is draining, and it's draining hard. I'm talking about charging 100% and then getting less than 60% a week later.
For give my ignorance, Can the solar be by passed somehow and directly charged by cable all the time. Yes it will lose its purpose of solar but if solar is this unreliable I wouldn't want to get this. Thank you for the info.

Read somewhere that some solar models can sync with eufy homebase? Does this sync with homebase or only local storage? Also does it monitor and record 24x7?
