I like the size and the specs seem good but not too familiar with these digital recorders. It's hard to tell from just looking at the features but it says stereo and was wondering if you could pan one mic input to the left and one to the right? And it says 2 track but are those "2 tracks" just the two XLR inputs and you can only use them once or can you overdub another stereo track overtop of the original one. Been looking for something like this for some time just to mess around and record guitar or whatever. Or am I better off going for one of those micro mixers with built in recording as they seem to be geared more towards instrument recording. And just for shits and giggles, I looked on Musicians Friend and found this Zoom H4 [musiciansfriend.com] for the same price (has built in mics and seems to be 4 track which would work better for me I believe)

This is a killer deal. Amazing recorder and worth the $350 I paid when it was released. Even better given that it includes the bluetooth adapter.

Just make sure to buy something with 32 bit float and yes, zoom recorders are good for what you are looking for. Just buy one of their most recent models. The h4 is now a very old unit. They have newer versions with 32 bit float for a good price

I'm not sure how much that 32 bit float is for my uses but that H4 one has it also. I like the idea of something compact that would fit in a guitar case, but a conventional 4 or 8 track with a bunch of knobs would work better for my uses. This Tascam [musiciansfriend.com] one seems decent and isn't too much more.
