Really no good reason to go for this vs one of the TCL or Hisense 98 inch TVs that go for around $1500 on sale.

Unless you just really like the Samsung TV ecosystem over Google TV

Yes, I always go Samsung. Never failed me. Could care less about Tizen because I bought $40 Fire TV sticks for my last two Samsungs and they are fantastic because you can sideload apps.

This model DU9000 is considered a garbage tv for that price. If you want mediocre quality, then get this. For the price you can get an amazing OLED 65" or larger tv!

I assume this is the same line as the DU8000 and if so, Rtings has the HDR brightness at 5.0 and SDR at 5.7. That's super low, yikes.

EDIT: For comparison, the Hisense U8K 100" for ~$700 more has a 9.2 for HDR brightness and a 9.0 for SDR.
