Yes, a license can be used for both win and mac, but you have to use the same account that activated the first installation

How much is the second state filing? Are e-filings included or extra? I am getting this for free for the first time. .Have been using H&R block, which I usually get around for $20. Trying to decide which one to go with.

And do you know if the one state download can be a different state on the second device, even if you use the same account to activate? I googled but could not find the answer.

I believe that it can. The state is tied to the installation, not the account. But if your plan is to copy your data file from one installation to the other to get two states done without paying for the second, I don't know if that will work.

I know many on here don't like the online version, but I wanted to mention that the promotion for free Turbotax if you start in the app will work if you previously used the download version. I used the same account and log-in as what we used for the $5 download last year, but was still recognized as a "new" customer. I logged in on the app, accepted the offer, switched to my computer to do all the work, then returned to the app to check out and get the order confirmation. It's unclear if you just have to get your order confirmation by Feb. 28 or fully file, but I don't want to risk losing out on the deal since it upgraded me twice during the process, all for free.

Just spoke to Fidelity Rep.
In order to get it for free you will have to meet both conditions:
1. Traded 30 minimum per year AND 2. Account Self directed of $500K
