I recommend checking out the similar model @ Costco to see if you can tolerate the screen.

This screen in particular looks "fuzzy" and not sharp due adding touchscreen to the OLED.

Great deal. Oled, win pro, checks all the boxes for me. Check Chase Offers - I have 15% off on my ink preferred card.

A couple of questions from a newbie (forgive me if my terminology might be incorrect and knowledge is limited): Is this a glossy or an Anti-glare screen? (The description mentions OLED, Glare, Touch)
Also, it says it run Windows 10 Home, but people are mentioning an ARM processor. If it runs Windows 11 Pro 64, won't most Windows based programs install ok? TIA

Looks pretty glossy to me.
This here video review is where I grabbed the screenshot from:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUctDa7rMqc
I didn't actually watch the video; only skimmed through to see what the screen looked like (for you).
I don't think this particular laptop has anything to do with ARM at all. It's just a regular Windows 11 laptop. Install whatever Windows app you'd normally install.

does that mean that Chrome is going to be unbearably slow (multi core)?wary of ARM in anything other than a phone, but haven't bought a new laptop in four years and not familiar with anything but Intel i series. My Dell Vostro keyboard is shot, conveniently happened immediately after Black Friday and trying to find someone ASAP.any guidance (or good online sources of info on specs to look for) would be SO. APPRECIATED. thank you!

went into costco to take a look to compare to the hp 360 envy 14" i purchased with slightly lower specs. I still think the HP build feels better over all. This lenovo is better under the hood but thats about it

This is about where I think the Meteor Lake Laptops should be price wise right now.

This looks like an excellent choice for a work/office/school laptop as long as you're not intending to do much gaming with it. The caveat is that the Meteor Lake CPUs fall behind on multi-core workloads, so if you know that you'll be using software that makes use of all of the cores, then I would look elsewhere.

Review:
https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/len...i-14-gen-9

The review thinks that this laptop is a very good portable laptop but complains that the screen resolution is low compared to other comparably priced laptops. The review does say that the screen is vibrant, clear and bright, just not as high resolution as the competition.

Battery life is excellent at 17 hours in the video test at half brightness. Probably 12-14 hours of real world use.

RAM is soldered, so not upgradeable, but for the use cases this laptop is designed for 16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM should be enough.

If you want a laptop for school/office type of workloads and value portability over high end performance, this is a great laptop at a good price.

If you want all of the above plus light gaming with an iGPU then hold out for the Lunar Lake deals that I believe are coming in the next month or two, but expect to pay $150-$250 more than this.
There's no way this is going to get anywhere close to 12 hour battery life. That's snapdragon x territory. You would be dancing in the streets if you can get 8 hours on this oled screen. Realistically 5-8 hours is the expectation.

You could get 32gb one from costco for same price if you do this .
Buy 9 instacart $100 ($20 off) gift cards ( you would need your friends and family to buy these as 2 gift cards per account) and then go to sameday.costco.com and apply these gift cards while ordering.. boom for $700 you would get 32gb Lenovo slim 7

From the review of this laptop with a Core Ultra 7 155H CPU:

https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/len...i-14-gen-9

We test each laptop and tablet's battery life by playing a locally stored 720p video file (the open-source Blender movie Tears of Steel) with display brightness at 50% and audio volume at 100%. We make sure the battery is fully charged before the test, with Wi-Fi and keyboard backlighting turned off.

PC Labs Battery Rundown TestColor Gamut Coverage Testing (Datacolor SpyderX Elite)Display Brightness Testing (Datacolor SpyderX Elite)

PC Labs Battery Rundown Test
Video Playback, 720p "Tears of Steel," 50% Brightness - 17:01

The battery result is a real positive here, behind only the MacBook Air. This comfortably falls into the "all day battery life" range, so you don't have to worry about working off the charger, taking this laptop with you, or constantly looking for the nearest outlet. On the display testing, the color coverage is very good, and this is a bright panel.

Again, I don't care what these reviews say. Plus, who cares about a video run down. That's the worst way to test battery life. Manufacturers optimize their laptops specifically for these type of rundown to get these kind of reviews. Do you sit and watch videos on your laptop all day? And what video format and video player are they using? Are those the kind most people would use to watch most videos (ie YouTube)? Show me real world reviews from real people with real world mixed use that shows they can get 12 hours.

If you have a real world review that you can point to I'd be happy to have you add it to the discussion.

You do realize that if a Windows laptop (especially one with oled screen) that can get 12-15h of real world battery life, it would be the holy grail of windows laptop, right? There would be no need for snapdragon x or lunar lake processor. Yet somehow this laptop from Lenovo with this meteor lake processor somehow has it figured out when no other laptop in this generation of processor has?
And just to add, a quick look at other reviews, gizmodo review said 8 hour battery life and cnet has it at 9 hours. And even then I wouldn't trust you get that in the real world. I have tried many laptops at home and compared what I am getting in real world vs reviews and it never even come close. And no I don't game or any fancy graphics or any video editing. I am talking about mixed web browsing (mostly Slickdeals and email) and web videos like YouTube at 50% brightness or less, 25% or less audio volume.

I've had the 155h / 32GB version of this, coming from a ideapad pro 5 14". Basically the same computer.

Hate that the power button is on the side (using it as a laptop i hit it with my leg) and the SD slot is gone.

Other than that...its not a huge difference. Sidegrade sure, but my 2 year old machine was fine.

During Black Friday I purchased this Laptop for a similar price. is the Lenovo a better computer overall? Hoping to snag this one and return the Asus if possible.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...3320285534
I think the Vivobook S 14 that you bought is better overall. It has a Lunar Lake processor which should give better battery life, and the iGPU is improved over this one's Meteor Lake processor. The ASUS' screen is significantly brighter with 600 nits vs 400.

This Lenovo is better if you really want a touchscreen or need 1TB of storage. It might also be less of a fingerprint magnet.
