I don't normally buy them but IIRC, I paid ~$100 for a 5 year extended warranty on the 85" Hisense I got from BB a while back. At $20/year and horror stories from people here saying theirs died within a year or two, I figured it was worth less than $2/mo to get a full refund should that happen to me. Unfortunately it wouldn't cover your son's accident but it is nice knowing you're otherwise guaranteed it'll work for at least 5 years.

I have google on mine and it runs really fast of course it's a Sony A95L. Even my old A9F 2018 is still fast.

Rtings [rtings.com] says it's "an alright TV overall". Some downsides, but definitely not bad at this size/price.
