Never buy apple from Amazon unless you're certain you're gonna keep it. The return process treats you like a criminal. (Apple forces them because of the absurd high rate of fraud etc, so I don't fault them, just warning y'all!)

My local Costco have this for $249.99 right now or the 9th gen for $199. Unless you have Amazon giftcard to use maybe it's better to buy from Costco for better warranty.

Suggest buying from Costco if you can. Amazon shipped me an open box iPad and refused to exchange it when I talked to customer service. I had to return it and then purchased from Costco instead. Seems Amazon could be intentionally shipping used/open box items listed as New. I've seen a lot of folks complaining about it lately.

I've been debating buying the 9th gen when it has been on sale for $199, but I got this coupon and also a $40 off when using Membership Rewards points, so finally I just gave in and did it. $209.99 plus tax for this one. My kid no longer has to use an iPad that's three years older than she is.

This is unfortunate. I purposely bought an open box, like-new iPad Air M2 13" last month when Amazon offered a 20% off promotion on open box items. The iPad arrived in excellent condition, and I am happy with my purchase since I knew it was open box and I got a good discount. I would also be upset if I paid full price only to receive an open box item. What is the point of paying full price if you end up with an open-box product? Why not just buy open-box from the start and take advantage of the discount?

Thanks for the info, I just canceled mine and will get from Costco. I had some gift card on Amazon but I can use it for other things instead.
