I've never refrigerated them, even the organic ones and never had a problem.

i dont know if this is a hack or not, but after volunteering at food banks i noticed theres always so much fkin raisins to give away, and i found out now its because the government heavily subsidizes raisin farmers by buying up all the raisens and give them away. its like government cheese.

we just cant give these away fast enough and thrown away metric tons of it. so uh.. go to your food bank lol

Why is this a deal when Walmart has a 64oz bag for $6.38 - that's less than $1.20 for 12oz?

After my last experience with Sun-Maid raisins, I'm considering refrigerating after opening. Plus, I am considering never buying their brand again.

In November, I bought a 2 lb. bag from Walmart. Last week, I opened the ziplock bag and started using them. They seemed fine, but a few days later they smelled like fermented wine. I contacted Sun-Maid, which is difficult. No info on their bags or website except an email form. There is no toll-free number and eventually found a company number via an internet search. Sun-Maid said possible change in temperatures (especially hot temps) will cause any sugar product to ferment. I live in MN and keep the raisins in a pantry. She said to throw away the whole bag, since fermented raisins can cause GI upset. No refund or free product coupon offered. She said to return to the store. Fortunately, I had an online receipt from my Walmart curbside pick-up order and got store credit online.

Customer service said they don't sell directly to the consumer, so there is no product guarantee. If you buy Sun-Maid products, please keep your store receipts!

That's horrible! I normally buy the trader Joe's organic, my current bag is a year old and still good

Great price; terrible quality raisins. (I ordered 2 cans last time this was posted - huge disappointment). As an aside, the raisins from Trader Joe's (if you happen to have one nearby) were just so much better than these Sun-Maids.

These are fine to cook with, but $3.50/lb for raisins isn't anything special. I guess you're paying for the container combined with the small quantity
