I want everyone to know that Acer LOCKS Overclock/undervolt capability on all those UNLOCKED 'HX' processors.
I bought one of those refurbished and returned it right away due to laptop getting hot and could not undervolt.

If you dont mind these, then yea, they are fantastic in price.

Is this the lowest that this particular refurbished laptop has gone for so far?
edit: it looks like the Helios 16 has been cheaper a couple of times. Is the only difference between the 16 and 18 the screen?
edit 2: it looks like the 16" version has the 13900HX CPU

Yes, this is the cheapest this laptop/model has been. I got this with the mini led before Black Friday. For $1700. If you're going really use the 4080 get a real laptop cooler. Like and klim turbofrost or llano it relieves the thermal throttling

I have the 18 4090 with mini led and yeah it does suck about bios undervolt being locked but it was the only one with those specs that was not $3000+ like Razer, ASUS, and MSI. Got the refurb on ebay with 2 year allstate warranty and will take my chances while trying to keep temps down using a flydigi bs1 laptop cooler. I did find this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/AcerPred...date_when/ where you can set 1.4v limit on cpu but still can't undervolt. Haven't tried it yet on mine but most likely will.

We will see. Nvidia didn't really cut the prices of 30xx stock that much when the 40xx came out. Lack of competition from AMD is brutal for the market

do you know if Alienware M18 R2 is locked? I got one with the same processor and GPU for about $1650 but I've never heard this mentioned before
