This one has a slightly bigger display but is better in every way, it has a high end CPU, also has a great onboard GFX which can game the BBY one does not. The screen resolution is bigger and better on this one. Pretty much a no brainer to go with this one over the BBY option, unless you really like the form factor.

Purchased this at microcenter before Black Friday for the same price. All aluminum build, lightweight, and display is great.

How's the battery life? I just bought the proart but the battery life is meh. This sounds like similar performance (same CPU and ram) but no dGPU so it should be better.

Vivobook S16 / Yoga 7i Aura spec differences
16" 3.2K 120hz Non-touch OLED, 400nits / 15.3" 3K 120hz Touch OLED, 500nits
Ryzen HX370 cpu / Intel Core Ultra 7 256V cpu
32GB ram / 16GB ram
3.31 lbs / 3.2 lbs
Numpad & offset keyboard / Centered keyboard
The Yoga has a touch screen that is slightly brighter, is slightly lighter, but has less ram. The Intel 256V is significantly slower on multi-core workloads but should last a bit longer on battery for simple tasks. The iGPU on the Intel 256V is surprisingly good and is fairly comparable to the HX370.
IMO for the same price you're getting more value with the Vivobook S16 in terms of raw specs. On the other hand I think most people like Lenovo's keyboards and trust the brand more.

Battery life is decent when not gaming or pushing hard. When gaming, an hour-ish of battery life.

Using GHelper and tweaking the TDP, I can get through a full work day with a little bit to spare charging my battery to only 80 percent (I enable battery saver on all my laptops).
So overall, battery life is great. At this price the laptop is a steal for what you get. If you get it, be prepared to do a bunch of updates. I ended up using AMD's chipset and Adrenaline drivers instead of Asus's.
Also, it seems like Asus/AMD are constantly issuing BIOS updates for the HX 370 processor. This laptop and the ZenBook S16 have received a lot of BIOS updates since release. It seems like they are still trying to get things perfectly right. With that said, both laptops are in much better shape now then they were a few months ago. Therefore, check the review dates and what is said.

There's an open box at my location for 899. Worth it?

I've had good luck with an open-box of this, as far as I can tell; no issues detected after a few weeks.

FYI, there's a setting [amd.com] in the AMD Adrenalin software to increase the RAM dedicated to graphics up to 75% (24GB). This enables Amuse to run Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large mostly stably. Flux is still out of reach though.

Exactly. How is the keyboard on Asus laptops these days? What is it if we call Lenovo an undisputed 10, (Microsoft Surface an 8, the MacBook Air 15" an 7.5-8, the MacBook pro a 6)?

I had a Zenbook 10 years ago. It was the prettiest laptop I ever owned with the worst keyboard. I swore never again.
