I received mine today and just assembled it. It took me about 1 hour to do. The only damage was the cracked rear reflector and some paint scuffs on the fork. The brakes are radius brand hydraulic brakes that take standard Shimano style brake pads. There is a bleed valve on them.

Very easy assembly. Mount front wheel with supplied skewer. Engage kickstand to make work easier with a standing bike. Pump up tires, mount front disc brake. Pay attention to the order of spacers. Partially tighten mounting bolts, press brake lever to seat pads, and further tighten bolts. Mount handlebars with 4 Allen bolts. Screw on pedals, adjust seat. It appears that derailleurs were already adjusted okay

You found a bleed valve on the caliper? Where?

actually there is a screw that covers the oil hole but you are right there isn't a valve to regulate the flow. you just have to be fast

Thanks for verifying. Do you know a procedure for bleeding without a bleed valve in the caliper? I've never seen a hydro caliper without one.

I've done a top bleed using the shimano cup and procedure but still cannot get the lever to firm up after multiple attempts. I know my front master cylinder is crap as it is leaking and reintroducing air in the system.

Reading around, there's a lot of complaints about the same issues with these brakes.

Thx

Do you mind sharing an image of the front brake caliper to show the order of spacers? I did re arrange mine after a suggestion from one of the fellow sd'er here. But just want to confirm I have got it right. Thank you.

Mine arrived in somewhat okay shape - the front dropout is bent enough to be annoying, but you can horse the wheel into to it. More annoyingly, they didn't include a front axle and the brakes are clearly fully of air bubbles (front doesn't work at all). Definitely get what you pay for - probably wouldn't repeat the purchase as it looks like it'll be a hefty bit of labor to bleed these brakes and hopefully make the bike rideable.

Sorry that you received yours with more than usual damage. But, with regards to instruction booklet, you didn't miss anything since the manual doesn't even pertain to the bike its shipped with right from instructions. I feel like they may have not even created an instruction manual for this particular bike as the one that they shipped with mine had reference to Univega bike and the odometer in the sample instructions is entirely different than the DPC 18 odometer this bike ships with.

With that you remind me, I wanted to check if its was only me or anyone else that received a proper manual with this bike. Can someone confirm if they did received a manual that corresponds to this particular bike?

same manual as havenbikes.com , click "E-BIKES" drop down menu select "POWER WAVE", click "DOWNLOADS" in middle of page most right side for "OWNERS MANUAL" https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...1634237504

I got a small too. Luckily came here without significant damage although the state of the box didn't seem like it would have survived without any damage.

I think fork misaligned is general issue for Haven Bikes Power Wave, both left and right fork is welded on

The size probably doesn't matter. I ordered a medium and I also had front fork misalignment problems too. See my pictures above.

I just checked, mines also came with a manual that doesn't correspond to the bafang DPC18 display that's actually on the bike. It's not too big of a deal. I did find this youtube video covering display operations, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNmvj9PiZ08.

I'll try giving them a call on Monday, but seems like i'm going the return route. On top of all the other issues, I just noticed that the front brake is also shimmed into place using washers to make up for an incorrect spacer. The bike appears extremely unsafe...
