During BF time it was $50 and I've told myself if FAH matches then I'll buy, but now it's another new low. I always thought it's the studios that decides on what the prices are, so why isn't FAH matching it?!

Doesn't appear to include "Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956)" remake for American audiences starring Raymond Burr of Perry Mason fame.

Criterion announced they're releasing Godzilla vs. Biollante, next year. Hoping that leads to a Heisei-Era collection.

That's not really a remake, just a re-edited version with some new footage and cheesy English narration added over everything. It's fine for a laugh, but if you're only going to watch one version of the movie, you definitely want the real one and not the corny Americanized version.

I'd be willing to bet most people don't even know the Raymond Burr version isn't the real thing. The original is so much better and more meaningful. I got a steelbook set from my family one year that had some commentary with the movie explaining the symbolism in the film and it was eye opening. It is a guy in a rubber suit, sure, but it isn't a movie about the guy in the rubber suit. If you haven't seen the original Japanese version, I'd recommend it 100%.

I previewed some of these on YouTube. I'm glad I did. Definitely not worth a blind buy. If you are nostalgic and maybe watched these films back in the day, I can understand why one would buy.
